All kidding aside, I actually admire what Thomas did. He didn't agree with how things are and made a statement. He didn't go on the attack, he simply used his right to protest.

Sorry, but I see nothing admirable in publicly stating your position then refusing to comment or defend it in anyway when people come asking questions.

Yup, not to mention creating an unnecessary distraction for your teammates.

huh. I'm pretty much the complete opposite.
i thought the way he did it was incredibly cowardly, and he came across as a petulant foot-stomping child.
imho, you have a right to have batshit crazy opinions, but have the courage to stand up for them, and argue for them.
Ted Nugent is a good example. absolutely bonkers, but he will defend his position for anyone who asks.

I hope Trump is enjoying a plate full of crow this morning. whining on about the popular vote disparity before the democratic west coast has been tallied. what a fucking maroon. He's so lucky his daddy was rich. Born on 3rd base and thinks he's hit a triple.

The Federal/State Government showdown regarding marijuana should be fun to watch. I've been hoping State Government would step up at some point as most of the things that directly impact your life occur at a state level.

I'm very liberal when it comes to personal rights issues so I'm glad both gay marriage and the legalization of marijuana are gaining momentum even if neither one has anything to do with me.

Sadly, I'm thinking that the Feds are going to win on this one, because the Commerce Clause as interpreted by the current Supreme Court is wicked overpowered. Yes I just used wicked like I would if I were in 1992 Boston.

I don't think it comes down simply to a Commerce Clause issue. Not a Constitutional scholar here, but I think that both the Necessary and Proper clause and to a much larger extent, the Supremacy Clause will come into play.

Those are going to be necessary because the Commerce Clause wouldn't apply if the entire industry (growth, shipment, sale, and consumption) all took place within the individual state.

The legality issue (and the Commerce Clause dispute) is overridden by the Supremacy Clause and the federal law declaring it illegal.

I just don't think it's his duty to defend why he did it, even though he did. He didn't go overboard and insult Obama, he just politely declined an invitation.

I just feel like too many people get wrapped up in meeting the President. If it's not someone that you prefer to be around, avoiding them seems like the right choice.

I guess his situation isn't very popular, but I would do the same thing. If I declined an invitation there, no one would care. I feel like the media made it out to be a bigger deal than it is.

If Donald Trump is unhappy, I'M HAPPY!! LOL!!

I'd have to second this and even expand it. When folks who have been on the wrong side of big issues over the last 60 years are up in arms over what you're up to, you're probably on to something.

Example(s) of why it happened the way it did yesterday.

Marco Rubio (R-FL) has said that the Republican Party must do a better job of reaching the Minorities.

Marco. The Republican party reached older, rich, White men filled with tears of impotent rage. You DID reach the minority, as it turns out.

In addition, multiple people are saying that Romney wasn't conservative enough.

So, what? If he was MORE conservative all the people who voted for Obama would have swung the other way?

STOP PANDERING TO FRINGES! ALL OF YOU!!

If he had stopped only at not going to the White House...maybe. But he continued to spout off on his Facebook and refused to defend any of it.

Rejecting the WH invitation is a passive move. It requires no effort on your part. But as soon as you become active (posting to FB), the game is different.

When the biggest issue in the election is the economy...I can't feel bad for an angry billionaire.

The new District 30 (PA) rep is a good family friend, Hal English. I was worried when I watched the poll numbers come in originally, but he won fairly heftily. As he should have...25+ years as a lawyer, JAG officer in the Marines, Rotary Club Pres, going up against a 26 year old with a Bachelors degree in marketing who put down "Eagle Scout" on his webpage. That's cool and all, an incredible accomplishment...but when you have to put that on your site that means you have no credible experience.

I think that's my favorite. So supposedly a bunch of ultra-conservatives, so disappointed in Romney's lack of conservative-ness (uh huh, that's a word now, because I said so) decided to go ahead and vote for the man that they perceive as the anti-Christ? I'm calling BS on that one.
