2014 is really the next big test in our country. Unfortunately there's not enough of a turnout generally. Need people to show up to those to make a change. When it comes to the social issues you need to make a change at the state level. The states hold power (and I still like that as a fan of small government), so make the change there. I understand the over-arching ideals, but I really don't like that we continue to give more power to the federal government. That said...the Congress is in such a state of gridlock there's basically no power.

This also means the most exposure to liberal-biased universities and colleges. I go to a Christian school, and we're still pretty liberal here. Are there conservative rules? Heck yes, but still for a Christian university, it's liberal. I'm always amazed at how college changes peoples political views. Part of that could be education, but biased professors are a big part too.

I used to get into heated debates with my political science teacher. He had a problem with anyone who was not democrat. That is wrong. I used to get into huge debates with my philosphy teacher as well, but he (towards the end of the semester) came and shook my hand and said I was one of the best students he had for generating thoughtful debate in the class when it came to political philosophies and such.
