Well then, just as I thought, you are a wisest. :heh:

You aren't missin much Dash. I miss San Mateo up in the bat area (15 minutes south of San Francisco).....I just don't want to pay $750,000 for a 3 bed 2 bath house in a rough neighborhood.

Some beautiful places up that way, but I couldn't take the Cost of Living and crowds in Baltimore/DC metroplex. I would not do well there. But I love visiting. Cousin has a house in Berkely, and I have a friend in Cupertino. Monterey is one of my favorite places on the planet.

I actually got invited to interview with a prominent company in Silicon Valley, and I turned down the interview because I didn't want to go there.

"We could put you in Seattle".

Uhhhh, perhaps I am not making my reasons clear enough.

Hahaha, that is crazy. $5K is not nearly enough to wear that thing for life. Also, I love The Donald's Twitter post...
"Our country is now in serious and unprecedented trouble...like never before."

I guess the last part is just in case you don't know what unprecedented means.

I could care less about a wall between us and Mexico, but a wall between us and Alabama? Make it so!

Yeah, you know how much money the rest of the country would save if we just waved goodbye to Florida?

Obama: Good news, Americans. We just solved the budget crisis and figured out a way to keep Social Security and Medicare solvent for the next century. We're getting rid of Florida. And the best part is, they asked us to do it!

Give the secession crowd credit - it makes more sense than when conservatives threatened to move to Canada or Europe! ;)

I am just amused that somehow this is big news now, for some news outlets at least, even though it has happened in the last few elections as well. And any citizen can make the petition, its not backed by state governments.

And I have a feeling this photo represents the mental capacity of most of the wannabee seceders:

Taken seriously though, I think Texas is the only one that would survive for any period of time as its own nation.

It has to happen! Sorry honey, we cannot visit your folks this year. We don't have the money to travel abroad this year.

Give them credit for the exclamation point, though. Normally, when you ask that kind of group what comes at the end of a sentence, the answer is an appeal.

One of the guys in the picture wants to know if you brought enough apples for everyone.

And if you did... get out, socialist!!

I got into this with my brother in law when he said we needed someone to run the country like a CEO, to get the budget in line.

I said that was a great idea. Sell Alabama and Louisiana to some conglomerate because they consume more tax dollars then they provide so they can be raided for assets and dumped for tax concessions. Simply close Arkansas after chapter 11 reorginaztion, and lay off all the kids in the whole south and replace them with Indian students because they will be cheaper and achieve more.

Amused, he was not.

I just read that there are now secession petitions from all 50 states. That's awesome. Maybe they should all get together and form a union of some kind.

Texas could do it, and it would actually be kind of interesting to see how it works. Yes, they refine all the oil, but how much would we make them pay to import it to be refined? I think I read that the majority of American oil is coming from elsewhere now...

I like your ideas on the corporation changes. Can we throw Mississippi and South Carolina into the sales mix though too?

And I don't buy into the "Texas could survive" thing. I think they'd be at-best a second-world nation pretty quickly. They may refine the oil, but how much of it belongs to them? The corporations that own it aren't going to move it to Texas to refine it then re-import into the US. And they're not exactly flush with any other energy sources, and one would assume that many of their largest corporations (i.e., the ones that make their economy as strong as it is) aren't going to want to be headquartered outside the US. So say goodbye to Exxon, Texas Instruments, Dell, Texaco, etc.

I just wish we could rid NY of the billions of dollars in welfare fraud. When I see people taking a cab from Buffalo to their doctors office and "on the way home" having them drive 35 miles south of the city to get cigarettes at the indian reservations 10 TIMES IN TWO MONTHS it makes my blood boil. This story was in the Buffalo News. It's all on the taxpayers dime through medicaid.

I am not against helping people I am against FRAUD that as a friend of mine that works for the dept of SS said "If the tax payers knew where their money is going they would literally puke"! That's what bothers me. Lets start fixing the financial problems by starting with fraud.

I knew a person on welfare that found a doctor feel good that prescribed her pain medication she didn't need. She bragged about the fact that she could get them and sell them for up to $600 per month. So we have a corrupt doctor fucking the system a corrupt user getting pills they don't need and selling them all being paid for by the tax payer.

I was telling a friend of mine that is a pharmacist assistant in the inner city about this and she started laughing, when I asked what was so funny she said "Steve I see this on a daily basis, people getting checked out at the pharmacy getting pain pills while on the phone asking, yes I'm getting them now how many do you want and how much will you give me for them" she said there isn't a damn thing they can do about it because of Hippa laws.

Again I am all for helping people that need help but does anyone think taxpayers should be paying for this?

Lets fix a broken system before we expand it into an even bigger problem.

Oh, I don't know...I think corporations would outsource the refinery process to Texas for cheaper sweat-shop labor once Texas repeals minimum wage laws. ;)

Totally agree. Fraud is the biggest cause of higher spending and higher prices, whether it be welfare fraud (personal and corporate welfare both), insurance fraud, defense spending fraud, etc.

Sounds like a solid plan after I we all quit paying taxes I'll call a cab for all of us to go there. Hell, we can all get free drugs and live happily ever after.......Don't know who will pay for it but that's not important.
