the pics of the dog is what kills me. He looks like an obese old man at the Old Country Buffet. Poor dog.

I am glad he made it, otherwise I would have been pissed at the vets. My wife works for a vet and they are often helping people with payments because they dont want the animals to suffer. Possibly allowing a 7 month old puppy to die from a snake bite is just wrong IMO. (though later it reads that he wasnt treated because the local vets didnt have anti venom)

His swollen face is funny. My dog has 'caught' bees before and had the same thing happen.

I was surprised that the vet just recommended using Benedryl. I'd think that the venom from a rattler would be pretty potent. I guess a dog has a lot stronger resistance to it than humans.

Vets recommend Benedryl for all sorts of things. From allergies to help in calming dogs. I was surprised to read it recommended for a snake bite too but I guess it was better than nothing.

Here is another odd one. When my wife first started at the vet she is now she was looking something and found a big bottle of vodka, really cheap stuff. She was almost scared to ask thinking someone had a problem but when she did they told her that vodka can help when dogs drink antifreeze, which in a lot of cases can be deadly.

I kept waiting to find out what heroic thing the dog did. I guess it was just a canine shield for the people, who showed their appreciation by not springing for the medicine it needed to make sure it got better. New article title...
