If David Villa was there, the result wouldnt have been a question ... there are better options on the bench than Torres ... its like spain is daydreaming that if they could only drop Messi in there lol

Who do you think you are, Adnan Virk?

That's actually why I pull for Germany though, is because I like their utilitarian attack style. Who cares how it looks as long as it ends up in the net.

I also like that the Germans generally play the same regardless of opponent and that they keep attacking all game regardless of the score.

I'm looking forward to the Sweden - Ukraine match as it could be the most beautiful game we've seen to date.

/Not on the pitch, in the stands...

i think their style on the world stage isnt exactly a stoic utilitarian one anymore with all the "foreign" players they have ... theres alot of flash there

i actually dont like it that they refuse to switch strategies or focus within a game and its pervasive in all of german soccer ie Champions league loss to Chelsea

True, it does get them into trouble sometimes, as evidenced by the fact that they haven't won a major tournament in a long time.

That's their rallying point - win one for Ray!

Might as well hand England the trophy now.

I remember practicing penalty kicks with my dad as keeper one day...He lunged to stop one of my shots and snagged his foot in a gopher hole. Tore some knee ligaments and I put him in a cast for six weeks.
