Both my kids went to a school last year that was situated right next to a heavily forested area where cougar and bear sightings were frequent. Their route to and from school was safe enough because there was a constant stream of cars, but some kids actually cut through the trails of the forest alone.

RCMP say a truck was making a right turn into a gas station at Lougheed and Willigdon when a car slammed into it.

The car was traveling in the bike lane.

Along with possible texting, Mounties are investigating if speed and alcohol played a role in the crash.
