It is all disruptive, it is very intriguing, in the US the car culture is ingrained into us that no one ever balks at road expansion. When most times it is wasteful.

As for mass transit, if managed properly it can be amazing, but unfortunately it is not. Going back to MARTA for one it is the most unreliable transit service you can be on.

As for this Boston thing, which that time frame is insane, I read they needed to add time for demo of existing buildings to accommodate the new station. Not sure the logistics behind it either.
Transit reliability and safety are things that authorities will consistently let go once things are operational and will always work against more transit (hard to convince riders to ditch the car to go sit in a subway station where the train may or may not show up while a homeless guy takes a shit on the platform). Got truly bad post Covid.

Sadly, that doesn't need to be the case. When I was in Paris just last year, the Metro and RER were very well ran and in areas that are convenient. Whereas places like Atlanta you essentially have to drive to get to the MARTA station so why would you even bother at that point? Then the system in Pittsburgh is tits on a bull useless. It only services a fraction of the city.

It is easy to give mass transit a black eye because all you need is one event, then people take that as the reality.
A perfect example of this is the very racist acronym that MARTA is called. @dash might know this one also.

Yeah, I heard a couple of those acronyms. Man, all I know is I don't know why anybody would want to stir up trouble on a MARTA train, those guards they employ could suit up for some NFL teams, they are huge lol

Man, the new Scout Traveler looks awesome inside and out. The really brilliant thing is they added a small gas range extender that is not a different engine, but simply feeds the battery and extend range by 150 miles (or 500 miles total between charge and gas). Not only does this extend range, but you can use either a gas station or an EV charger to keep going. I think the range worries are so overblown given that most people could simply recharge their car each day, but that's a game changer for what has become the biggest downside to an EV.
