Only one party is continually spreading falsehoods about FEMA relief and is causing delays for people that are truly in trouble. When people need help badly and this is where you need government agencies to respond and they're chasing their tail due to all the misinformation out there, it's maddening and disheartening at the same time.

Who is actively celebrating 10/7? That would have to be such a small minority of idiots. I saw a segment on CNN earlier that was pure rubbish from an Israeli citizen pretty much indicating that if you’re calling Israel genocidal and calling for a ceasefire that you support Hamas/Hezbollah. It’s just crazy making.

Anyone calling fallen attackers on October 7th “martyrs” would probably be high on that list. Saw a few flyers going around saying as much.

But in general organizing your big marches for the 1 year anniversary of the attack that kicked this all off says enough.

Hamas, a terrorist organization, killed ~1200 and took ~250 hostage.

Israel has killed ~41,500, with majority being women and children.

Should we call Israel terrorists too? Supporting either Hamas, Hezbollah, or Israel, is wrong in my mind no matter which way you slice it. Condemning the innocent lives lost is all that matters.

Israel conducts many of its war activities pretty horrendously but, at least in my lifetime, I don't recall an IDF mission that was focused entirely on killing, sexually assaulting and kidnapping innocent civilians. Not to say those things didn't happen and there aren't some absolutist nationalist Israelis in that force who conduct such actions (the Israeli hostages who were shot by the IDF who had their hands in the air while asking for help in Hebrew really sticks out to me) but at no point has any mission plan for them been to simply terrorize civilians whereas that was entirely Hamas' point last year.

So yes, I do draw a bit of distinction between supporting the ones who conducted an open campaign of terror and the ones who may not be conducting their response in the way I want them to but I can understand why the response is needed. Much as most of the civilized world viewed the United States 23 years ago.

And frankly when their supporters are chanting death to Canada in downtown Vancouver I guess it becomes that much easier to not side with them

I used to believe that. I mean I consider myself someone of that persuasion.

But yeah when they decide to show their whole ass and attack not Israeli government institutions like consuls and embassies but neighbourhoods with high concentrations of Jewish populations and Jewish owned businesses, well, I could be wrong but I think they call that a pogrom my friend and they’ve been doing that in Canadian cities for a year now.

Its better/worse than that. The two dermatologists at this place are both very attractive and have a young attractive staff. One of the last times I was there I was standing on a small pedestal in boxers while 4 (!) much younger attractive women closely inspected me. Great way to feel old!

My mother went to the same doctor (seems to be a shortage of dermatologists in this area) about two weeks before my last visit. She called me after her visit laughing saying she knows why I go there. I was confused and asked why. My 81 year old mother answered "Because she's hot!". I laughed but had not noticed because most of my checkups were during Covid and we were masked. Two weeks later this unmasked attractive doctor was standing about an inch away from me looking at my face and I was thinking about my mother's phone call and struggling not to laugh.
