Oh.
Hey 46&2, this might be an odd question, but were you in the Pittsburgh airport on December 27 per chance? I saw a fellow who looked an awful lot like you wearing a Virginia Tech hat on that day.
For some reason, I still have respect for and like Armstrong. At the same time, I hate guys like Bonds and Clemens. And I can't quite figure out the disconnect.
It might be because he is OUR guy or maybe because EVERYONE in the sport of cycling is dirty. I guess it bothers me that during the 'roid era some guys were cheating and some were not, especially since they were shattering all-time records. But with Lance, is there any doubt he was the best cyclist of his era - doping or not?
Finding out that Lance was doping all those years is just like finding out that Santa isn't real.
It was so nice to watch a really nice, charasmatic guy, do something that no other American could ever do, dominate the Tour de France, and do it while battling cancer while raising millions of dollars to help others.
It seemed like he was someone you could look up to and be inspired by, he gave people hope. Not only in achieving your goals and dreams, but on how to live, instead of just trying to survive.
That is what I think is the most heart crushing thing about the whole thing....
People compare it to the Tiger fall. I can't stand Tiger but he creeped on his wife! That's not really comparable, IMO, at least with respect to sport success.
I was not. I am not in Pittsburgh anymore. I bet that was one damn good looking fellow though.
He denied it for years. I really hope his foundation has & will continue to help people, but I've lost all respect for him.
I thought maybe you were visiting with Sara for the holidays or something. This fellow was with a girl, and she left right before he went through security, probably seeing him off.
I noticed all of this because I was right behind them in line and chatting with them, by the way, not because I was creeping from afar.
And he was alright...
Newsflash: Neither Lance Armstrong nor his foundation "help people." They only raise money and they're both very good at it.
Which they use to help people fighting Cancer. They helped my mother with bills when she was fighting it.
I'm sure that meant allot to your mother. So would you say that Livestrong is not a "cancer research" charity as most people believe it is and that Armstrong has raised trillions of dollars for "cancer research?"
Jimmy V > Lance Cheatstrong
Figures. As soon as the Habs pick Colby up this happens.
