Now ND is most likely a 2 to 4 loss team this year depending on a couple of factors. But man, This is not going to help what is already not a friendly schedule:

at Louisville (opener)
BYE
New Mexico (coming off bye)
at Georgia (Arky State)
Virginia (Old Dominion)
Bowling Green (coming off bye)
USC (coming off Bye)
BYE
at Michigan (Penn State)
VTech (coming off bye)
at Duke (coming off bye)
Navy (coming off bye)
Boston College (coming off bye)
at Stanford (California)

Out of 12 opponents: 8 will not have an opponent the week before, 2 play G5 teams, and 2 play P5 schools.

I think that most of the time, the Bye week hurts the team that is taking it.

So, it has to help.
I think.

Damn, more than half your schedule gets two weeks to rest and prepare. Gonna be tough.

Out of 12 opponents: 8 will not have an opponent the week before, 2 play G5 teams, and 2 play P5 schools.

Your schedule is laid out pretty decent for you also.

You open on a Monday night, but have a bye the following Saturday. Then you host New Mexico, before going
to UGA. That'll give you 3 weeks to prepare for UGA.

You'll be down emotionally the next week, but that is a home game vs UVA. Then you host Bowling Green
before hosting USC...thus, from an emotional standpoint, you'll have equal time to prepare for USC.

Then you have a bye, the week before you play Michigan, which will have an emotional game vs Penn St
the week before. That's a big edge for ND.

A let down the next week, but that is a home game vs VPI. Then at Duke and home vs Navy and BC, before
closing the season at Stanford who will have played their most important rival the week before in Cal (The Big Game)

Your 4 toughest games are laid out perfect for you.

Eventually, everybody will be flat in one game a season and that is when it has to be a "taking care of business" game
(who has the most talent.

The 4 games where you have to be emotionally charged and ready to play are laid out perfectly for you.

Yea, this is probably the softest schedule that I can remember.
Maybe so, but I don't think Clem made it intentionally soft like others do.

I find it extremely difficult to give a team credit and/or blame a team for the difficulty of their in conference schedule. Other than changing conferences, they have no choice in who those opponents are. Teams do have a choice in who they play OOC, so that credit/blame falls 100% on them. And Clem's ain't bad in that regard. Pretty good in fact.

You guys have A&M and South Cackalacky as two of the four you chose to play. Playing two P5s OOC is usually twice what most P5 teams choose to play. And you are helping out an instate li'l brother in one of the other two. So, only one game out of the entire 12 game season can be put on Clem IMHO.

Even though the SEC has a rule against it, we play 5 teams who have byes the week before we play them.

UT, USCjr, UF, Mizzou, and Auburn.

We do have a byes week before UF (both teams almost always do), and UT, so that sort of cancels the advantage, but still 5 fucking teams with byes.

It’s going to happen to a lot of teams this year with every team getting two byes.

Thankfully we get a bye before playing New Mexico. We are gonna need all the practice time we can get to run that bitch up as much as we possibly can.

I agree. This happened to Bama a few years ago, and of course the next year the rule was implemented in the SEC that you can't have more than 3. That's how the SEC is rationalizing us having 5 ... because we have 2, we really only have 3. It's BS, but that's the way it is.

Looking at UFs, It's not too bad for scheduling advantage/disadvantage.

2 Bye's but UF also has the bye at the same time. And the opener of course. That makes them even.

Overall, for scheduling alone:
UF has the advantage 3 times: UT Martin, Auburn, and Missouri.
Disadvantage 3 times: UT, Towson-like it matters, and LSU
Pretty even the rest of the way: Miami, Kentucky, USC, Georgia, Vandy, FSU.
