Gotta look to extend Lucroy and Darvish. If either or neither can't reach a deal and we're not tearing it up we've got to trade them because those two could bring a haul.
Was about to say the same myself. JD was never into resigning players during the season so I thought that was kinda telling. The just signed Molina contract may doom us to resign Lucroy. Happy to be proved wrong tho on both.

Not sure this is the best to keep guys hot and in a rhythm, but hope it works out fine!

Yeah, they have one too many guys right now that they are trying to find at bats for. It won't be long before none of them are hot any longer. Young players simply don't do very well playing on a less than regular basis. Looking back, if I remember correctly Palmer, Young, Blalock, Murphy, Kinsler, Elvis and Odor were all given fairly regular playing time to begin their careers and it seemed to work. Even Davis looked well his first year when given regular playing time. It is hard to remember any of our younger players who succeeded when given intermittent playing time at best.

Sorry to see that we didn't get many predictions on the prediction board.

I'd be all over that deal Molina got for Lucroy.

It will be interesting to see what happens if Choo starts off the regular season the way he hit in ST. How long would it take for him to slump for Banny to bench him? Choo's slugging percentage was the lowest it has ever been in ST in his career. He only had one other ST where he slugged within 50 points of this year's all time ST low.

If they lose Lucroy and Darvish to free agency they know they can always go out and trade Gallo, Profar, Mendez, Jurado, Taveras, Brett Martin and Guzman for a couple of replacement rentals.

Long time before we need to have this conversation. Honestly I feel like you've always had it out for choo.

I have always thought they spent too much money and gave him too long of a contract. I didn't care for either of their big moves that offseason. Those two moves have hamstrung us.

About like that Tony Romo contract. I love Prince and was glad he was a Ranger but I had no idea he was broken. JD and the Rangers should have done their due diligence and waited on the MRI. Choo was a long, expensive deal for a guy that gets on base. Problem is you cant get on base from the DL

I still think Guzman could be a monster at first base for us.

Hope so, I liked Mitch's production for his price and would have welcomed him back this year for the deal he got, but we havent had a legit 1st base prospect since Tex, I guess? I mean if you throw out CD, like we did?

Here's what SI's Jay Jaffe has to say about Profar.

The game's top prospect heading into the 2013 season lost all of 2014 and '15 to shoulder injuries, and hit an uninspiring .239/.321/.338 in 307 plate appearances last year. Profar still doesn't have a full-time job with the Rangers, but the 24-year-old Curaçao native opened eyes while hitting .464/.516/.750 and manning centerfield—a position he had never played before, at least professionally—for the Netherlands in the World Baseball Classic. Between the Rangers' unsettled leftfield situation and the fragility of centerfielder Carlos Gomez, designated hitter Shin-Soo Choo and third baseman Adrian Beltre, manager Jeff Banister should have ample opportunity to get Profar the regular playing time he needs to show off his vast potential.

Bout as long as it took him with Prince.
