btw, Clemmings is a converted DT that is listed as a project with upside.

do the Rams really need to go down that road again ( Jason Smith, G. Rob )?

the Rams don't need 2 project OT's to protect an injury prone Bradford.

Actually he is a converted TE, not DT. And based on the video I have seen, he would be a good fit for a run first offense as a RT or RG. Granted he is my 4th choice and I would only look at him if we do indeed trade down from #10 and Scherff, Peat and Collins are all gone. He is a value at #17, 18 or 19 not so much at 10. I can see them drafting any of the other three at 10

10T J ClemmingsSt. Louis Rams (6-10)COLLEGE: PittsburghClass: SrHT: 6-4WT: 313POS: OT
Analysis: The Rams made more strides on defense this year after adding Aaron Donald as a clear "best player available" pick in the 2014 NFL draft, and the defense benefited greatly. But while their No. 2 overall pick, Greg Robinson, goes into 2015 as the starter at left tackle after looking better there for the most part over the last five weeks this season, the O-line still graded out poorly for me overall, and the Rams need to bring in more talent. Clemmings is a player who has come a long way since converting from defense, but he has arguably as high a ceiling as any tackle in this class and won't need to start his career at left tackle. Quarterback questions persist, but there's no fix to be found here after the top two guys are off the board. More help up front is needed.

This is per Kiper.

Yeah I think he was a DE

I stand corrected. Of course, I picked the ONE preview of Clemmings that had it incorrectly. Every other one has him as a former DE... LOL. Still, I would snag him in the teens if we traded down. Every "expert" is very high on this cat. I think a lot of what they do in round 1 will depend on whether Barksdale resigns or not. If Barksdale resigns, I could see them reaching for a developmental player at another position (pass rushing OLB/DE hybrid type) or reaching on the rookie QB (Hundley).

I highly respect your views and your insight.

But, even if the Rams don't resign Barksdale, I would still rather they reach for a QB to develop ( Hundley ) over a project OT with upside ( Clemmings ).

Sorry, but Jason Smith is still too fresh in my memory to walk down that path again.

Better yet, let's hope it doesn't come down to having to make that choice.

If we are sitting at #10 and somehow Scherff, Peat and Collins are all gone, that is going to mean that someone like Shane Ray, Randy Gregory or Shaq Thompson is going to be sitting there. I snag those guys ALL DAY LONG before I grab Hundley at #10. Now, if we gamble and trade down a few slots and all those options are gone, then reaching for Hundley at say 15 or 16 would be ok. But again, I do not think we will need to make that choice. I think Scherff, Peat or Collins will be there for us anywhere from 10-13.

And thanks for the vote of confidence!!

Oh, I completely agree KSU.

No way was I saying they take Hundley at #10. I was referring to the trade down and the choice between Hundley or Clemmings.

Shop, I'd be happy with both those haha

1st seems a little more realistic than 2nd because there is way more trade backs in the 2nd set lol

Agreed, I just kept trading back when I couldn't find match up available players and the draft spot (trying to maximize the grade, lol).

Shopson: funny to see that you're a fan of the Rams and Bills and the teams are basically at the exact same point. They both have a Super Bowl team in their division and they both need a QB to go with their defense.

I think the Rams will have to go after a QB either high round, a trade or something. They have to bring someone in that gives the team confidence. They are either getting someone like Foles, someone like Cutler (I use the term confidence loosely) or they are taking the #3 QB.

Don't I know it, lol. Bills have some key free agents to worry about (Rams only have 1 or 2 really), so there's a small difference lol. That and being safe where they're at (new owner won't move the team).

As far as QB, I would guess the Rams pick the 4th QB, as I think Hundley will go before their 2nd round pick.

Round 1 Pick 10: Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford (A)
Round 2 Pick 9: Paul Dawson, OLB, TCU (B+)
Round 3 Pick 8: Tyler Lockett, WR, Kansas State (A)
Round 5 Pick 9: Daryl Williams, OT, Oklahoma (A)
Round 7 Pick 10: Malcolm Brown, RB, Texas (B+)

Personally I think Malcolm Brown would be a huge steal if he were there in the 7th round for someone. The guy played in the shadow of Johnathan Grey who was the best back out of highschool and is quite the beast. Brown is good, I would be for rolling the dice on him.

Round 2 Pick 9: Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State (A)
Round 2 Pick 13 (MINN): Denzel Perryman, ILB, Miami (Fla.) (B-)

Traded down once in the first (to add a 2nd rounder) and once in the third (to add a 4th rounder for Grayson), strangely both with Minnesota lol.

Your score is: 4932 (GRADE: A-)

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 11 (MINN): Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford (A)
Round 2 Pick 9: Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Oklahoma (A)
Round 2 Pick 13 (MINN): Tre' Jackson, OG, Florida State (B)
Round 3 Pick 12 (MINN): Hroniss Grasu, C, Oregon (A)
Round 4 Pick 11 (MINN): Garrett Grayson, QB, Colorado State (B+)
Round 5 Pick 9: Mike Hull, ILB, Penn State (B+)
Round 7 Pick 10: Derrick Malone Jr., OLB, Oregon (B-)

Filled all the O-line needs relatively early and Grayson in the 4th (Petty is going before the Rams' 3rd rounder now), the home run swing with DGB, and some decent LB depth (especially Hull, who could play MLB or OLB but has been dinged up).

That Penn State kid is a good one. I watched most of all of his games this season and he'd be a great keeper back-up to Laurinaitus.
