I think that's way too heavy on OL early personally (but most of the mocks here are in my opinion). Of course, everything will hinge on free agency.

I doubt Petty lasts that long (almost the 4th round?) after throwing for 550 on MSU, he's sure to climb the mocks as we get closer to the draft (even if he's basically a 1-read QB right now, but so are most of these college QBs). He made some spectacular throws, but almost always threw immediately to the primary target, which doesn't work very often in the NFL.

Not very familiar with Lockett or Surratt, but would like to target OLB much sooner.

I agree, it is slightly O line heavy. I also agree we need to see what they do in free agency before doing serious projections. I would have gone OLB with the first pick of round 3, but there was no value there. I am VERY bored at work today, so I am sure I will post some other more attractive options!! LOL

I also agree Petty will probably be chosen ultimately with our actual 3rd round pick at #10 but again for these purposes as he has not moved up yet, he is still projected in the 20's of round 3.

If you do not know much about Tyler Lockett, watch the Alamo Bowl today. He is a better KR/PR than Tavon and he is a better WR than Tavon.... and that says a lot. He might not be there in round 4, but since he was in this projection, I snagged him. Another guy I am looking at there is Petty's favorite target, Antwon Goodley.

As for Surrat, that was a value pick there..solid DT for depth.

Try this one Shop!!! Traded twice. Once from 10 to 13 in round 1 and got a 2nd,3rd,5th and traded from 10 to 21 in round 2 and got a 3rd and 4th. More balanced IMO

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 13 (N.O.): Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford (A)
Round 2 Pick 12 (N.O.): Cody Prewitt, FS, Ole Miss (A-)
Round 2 Pick 21 (CAR): Reese Dismukes, C, Auburn (A)
Round 3 Pick 8: Jordan Jenkins, OLB, Georgia (A-)
Round 3 Pick 11 (N.O.): Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor (B+)
Round 3 Pick 21 (CAR): Tyler Lockett, WR, Kansas State (A)
Round 4 Pick 13 (N.O.): Ben Heeney, ILB, Kansas (B-)
Round 5 Pick 9: Miles Dieffenbach, OG, Penn State (B-)
Round 7 Pick 10: Damian Swann, CB, Georgia (A)

If Lockett is better than Austin doesn't that mean he will go in the top 5, possible top 3 picks?:yahoo:

BWAHAHAHA... less hype = lower pick. Trust me, people in the Big 12 know this kid. He now holds all the Kansas State receiving records that were all held by his daddy, Kevin Lockett!!

Just giving you crap KSU, if he is better than Austin and Austin went 8th overall, obviously in the Rams front office brain cell, Lockett has to be a top 5 pick!

I don't have a problem picking up Lockett, just don't feel WR is that big of an issue! And you just never know about these guys, he might turn into just another good punt returner that we already have:yahoo:

Tried a different direction with this one, not passing up offensive talent early, with 2 trade-downs (in the 2nd with NE for a 3rd and 4th and my 5th/7th to KC for 5th/6th/7th). First-Pick NEVER likes my late picks, lol. I passed on OT, assuming Barksdale's return. Could still use a swing tackle for depth, but the OTs left late were all pretty similar to who would be left as UFA.

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 10: Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama (A)
Round 2 Pick 29 (N.E.): Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia (A)
Round 3 Pick 8: Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor (B)
Round 3 Pick 32 (N.E.): Jarvis Harrison, OG, Texas A&M (B)
Round 4 Pick 2 (N.E.): Jake Ryan, OLB, Michigan (B+)
Round 5 Pick 17 (K.C.): B.J. Finney, C, Kansas State (A)
Round 6 Pick 16 (K.C.): Stephone Anthony, ILB, Clemson (D)
Round 7 Pick 19 (K.C.): Sam Arneson, TE, Wisconsin (C-)

When it comes to first-pick, my new thing to do is look at Best Value Remaining at positions it says we need in rounds 5-7. Always seems to work.

I love Stephone Anthony late.... someone who can learn from JL55
Of COURSE I love Finney... LOL But seriously, he is very versatile. Just the kind of guy Fisher likes

At least you didn't say you love BJ, lol.

Tried a FanSpeak draft (no trades on the base version):

10: R1P10 QB JAMEIS WINSTON FLORIDA STATE
41: R2P9 OT LA'EL COLLINS LSU
72: R3P8 ILB ERIC KENDRICKS UCLA
137: R5P9 CB STEVEN NELSON OREGON STATE
202: R7P10 C JAKE SMITH LOUISVILLE

Ticks a lot of boxes for me, especially considering Collins and Smith can play OG as well. I think Kendricks has the flexibility to play OLB as well as MLB. How realistic is Collins lasting to the 2nd round? Probably not too much...

First-pick does seem to hate it when you go away from their suggested positions. Guess they don't like value over filling holes...

I did this one assuming we would address the Oline in FA. Sign center Wisniewski and guard lupati. both are still young. Resign Barksdale. just another way they might go.

Round 1 Pick 10: Benardrick McKinney, ILB, Mississippi State (B-) can play OLB or MLB
Round 2 Pick 9: Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Oklahoma (A) ASSUMING Britt will get an offer we won't match.
Round 3 Pick 8: Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor (B)
Round 5 Pick 9: Tyrus Thompson, OT, Oklahoma (B-)
Round 7 Pick 10: Marcus Murphy, RB, Missouri (A)

Collins will be gone before pick #20 in round 1. I, too, am a fan of Kendricks. Very versatile.

Like it still says you need an OLB when you draft Shane Ray or Dante Fowler in round 1, who are both OBVIOUSLY going to play OLB in the NFL and not DE where they are listed... UGH

I like the look of this IF we make those signings you laid out... I really like McKinney but as you can see, #10 might be a bit early. I did not start getting an A grade until #17 with him. Try this on for size. If we make those signings, why not take Melvin Gordon at #10 to pair with Mason and then grab an OLB like Reshard Cliett from South Florida in the 7th... all sorts of ways to go.

yeah i wasn't crazy about picking him at 10 but he was the only LB left. but love his size and speed and the fact he can play outside and eventually take over for JL55. not to mention we are just Critical then at LB. if JL55 or TREE went down… oh man. I guess we would call Ray Ray lol

Clayton you probably would know best. Markus Golden!! Ray seems to get all the hype, I know he's good but Golden seems to just make plays. I don't remember them calling Rays name yesterday in the game while Golden was blowing shit up!! I just have this feeling Golden will be a steal.

Golden is a stud too... he is projected late 1st, early 2nd. But he is a straight DE. He is like Michael Sam, too slow to play OLB.

You guys have to climb off of your HIGH HORSE! You've got to remember, its real easy to want quality players in free agency, but in reality they will not want to come to a losing team unless that particular team overpays to get him!.... aka Jake Long/Scott Wells. These guys would have never came here had it not been due to the massive contract that we shelled out! When you say we will sign Wisniewski and lupati I cringe because IMO the Rams wont be on their list of future teams! Bank on it! :noidea:
