They usually want a competitive opening game. Not sure if you watched the Super Bowl, but I wouldn't call that competitive... unfortunately...

I'd be shocked if we open against them. I'm thinking mid season in SEA and towards end of year in SFO. They will want both teams to be 6-2 or 7-1-ish when we meet the first time.

If so, I think the players are going to be realky fired up. Not only to avenge loss, but also for Sherman's antics. Most were smart enough to keep quiet but I am sure they havent firgotten

Why would it be shocking? The SB champs either open up against someone they played against in the playoffs or a division rival. So it's either the Broncos or the Niners. And considering that the NFC championship game drew more viewers then the AFC and is the best rivalry in the game, I don't see how it's not the opening game.

I could see them playing in Week 17 but I'm pretty sure Fox wouldn't like losing both games to NBC.
