I'm actually surprised the Habs offered Markov that much on a 1 year deal, to be honest. I think the Habs have high hopes that Tinordi can replace Markov and want to ease Tinordi into a full time role.

Yeah me too kind of, but they are a different team with him in the lineup than they have been without him. Because the Habs have been mediocre in his career and because of how quiet he is, I think through most of his career he has been really underrated, hes a really good player. I think he still is very good but I also think the Habs play him too much and he wears down. The problem is other than Subban, the other defensemen - even usually solid ones like Gorges and Emelin have all had struggles at times this season. And the third pairing has often been awful.

I'm also hearing Markov wants a 3 year deal (don't know what dollars he is asking for, I assume it's fairly close to $6 million though). Maybe the Habs offer him 2 years at $5 million and see what happens?

I think it's beneficial for both sides to get a deal done, Markov in the lineup makes the Habs so much better - without him they are mediocre - that being said he is getting older so maybe they can meet in the middle and do a two year deal

NHL rejected Steve Moore's disability claim, according to court documents - NHL on CBC Sports - Hockey news, opinion, scores, stats, standings

Absolute disgrace - the league is only concerned about the money and not the long-term health of their players - they just want to get out of this as quickly as possible because they know they're in the wrong and they're screwed - basically they're holding Steve Moore hostage

If/when this finally goes to court (at one point, I thought there would be an out-of-court settlement and I guess there still could be), I just hope that a conclusion is reached that is satisfactory for both parties. The last thing we need is an appeal that would drag out this process even further.

It's gone on to long as it is.

A: fuck Steve Moore.
B: this is an interesting wrinkle
- Furthermore, Aquilini is not allowed to settle with Moore without McCaw's approval.

So the new owner cannot settle the case without the owner at the time's approval? Is there something personally at stake for McCaw?

I guess it was in the contract that he may be personally impacted by outstanding obligations for a certain period of time. Otherwise, he sold the team and all of it's positive and negative ledger points. He should be out of this.

i understand in business that companies take over almost everything from the previous owner even when there is a law suit (lawyers please correct me if im wrong) that if they want to settle they should be able to settle? tis strange law suit.

I loved that yesterday bolland said he doesnt care about the contract, he is there to get in the playoffs and be a cup contender.

I guess if you get $40M it helps.

Price won’t dress for Wednesday’s game against the Detroit Red Wings at the Bell Centre and won’t travel with the team to Pittsburgh, where they will face the Penguins Thursday.

Price aggravated a lower-body injury he suffered in Sochi.

Yeah right, call it what you will but he is obviously cracking under the pressure.

The pressure of carrying scrubs like Crosby and Kunitz on his back!

Wow. Not that I expect him to stay there long, but a 40 goal scorer on your fourth line?

I actually think by the third period, RJ will be with Testube and Mac and Gabby will be with Foligno and Arty.

Once Gabby proves he is at game speed, he will be with Johansen and Horton and Jenner will provide a lot of punch for Arty and Nick.
