Expansion = more money for the league

Yeah, I know.

Shame we fans can't make the league pay US "contraction fees". Whenever the league lets a team fail tickets for all of us get subsidized by 11 million.

15 years ago today Brian Burke fired Mike Keenan...and there was much rejoicing in the Lower Mainland.

Fuck him and fuck Messier, they didnt think that beating us in 94 was enough to break our hearts they had to come to Vancouver and do it as our team mates. we hates them forever

i know Im going to get a MATTOLA'D but

Sharks sign Marleau and Thornton to three-year deals

According to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com, Thornton's deal is worth $6.75 million per season, or just over $20 million over three years with a full no-movement clause, while Marleau will get $6.66 million per year, or just under $20 million over the same term. Kevin Kurz of CSNBayArea.com is reporting Marleau's deal also has a no-movement clause.

Technically, Marleau will make more because he didn't use an agent (after Don Baizley passed away) and (I assume?) Thornton has to pay his agent (his brother John) a bit from that $6.75/year? /shrug

Sure glad Eric Nystrom doesn't play for the Sharks as Jumbo Joe would be whipping something out right about now...
