Another test for him. He has to shake the demons of the sharp drop in play and attitude when he got his last contract. I hope he can do it. He's certainly responded to the first test - proving you can keep your head in and play when you are the focal point. Well enough to get a contract.

Good luck Mase.

Games. In. Hand. :D

The only problem with this is now all these guys who said before the season that the Metro was the best and most exciting division in hockey are going to look like they knew what they were talking about.

I expect Columbus to sneak into that top 3 for the Metro.

Hmm, think the could sneak into top 3 with the Pens, Rangers, & Flyers playing like they have been? BJ's have been hot tho so it is possible.

Pens won't drop out of the top 3, unless there's major MAJOR injuries. The other two have been far too inconsistent this year for me to put them in the top 3 with certainty. Flyers have picked up offensively, but struggled in goal/defense. The Rags will go as far as Hank takes them, per usual. Post-Olympics will tell all. Trades too. Those should pick up soon. From what I've heard/read, most teams want their teams "in place" by the Olympic break instead of the deadline.

Kellan Lain broke John Ferguson's 50yr old record tonight; fastest to fight from start of career. 2sec. Fergy was 12 vs Ted Green Oct8/63

Almost wish you can blur out the recipient and watch peoples reactions with no bias especially since no injury

As we've all said many a time...the inclusion of injury as criteria is asinine in the doling out of punishment. You could take that same exact hit, make it against Player A, B, C, and D, and two of them are okay, one is out a week, and another is out a month. It's silly.

100% agree but I think mNy who hate Cooke so much can't get past it if no injury no harm if you get my meaning

Say that shot is on Crosby and no injury how many bring the torches while no one brings a light for Cooke

I'm obviously not as emotionally invested with Cooke today as I am with Sid, but I'll say that was a cheap shot that SHOULD result in a 5-7 game ban. However, Jaime Benn is a "star", albeit in a non-hockey market, and I don't think he has a history, and there's no injury, and it's Cooke. So, he'll probably get 1 and a fine.

I wish Jamie Benn would have hit Matt Cooke with a hard clean body check. If Martin Hanzal running around for 40 seconds injuring three Canucks players only gets a 5 grand fine, I don't see Benn even getting a game (10K fine)

Yeah; there were some vision impaired refs on the ice for the Minny/Dallas game. - At least when it came to the stuff that Dallas was doing. Late in the 2nd Gonchar was cross-checking Granlund about 6-7 times in quick succession - with a ref standing almost right beside him - & didn't draw a call. :L

Happy Hockey Day if you're a Minnesotan.
