had to look it up (I had guessed Buffy the Wonderslug)
also interesting the 6 of the 7 leading d-men goalscorers had a negative +/-

That is a bit skewed indeed. Not THAT surprising though given that I imagine most goals by D come on the PP.

also as those D press more often (presumably), they also get caught every now and then?
dunno.

to your point - 8 of Weber's 11 points (5 of 6 goals) have been on the powerplay.

Yeah... 10 D-men have 10 points or more at even strength. Of those ten only two (Karlsson and the Wiz) are a minus. Once could probably argue that those two's minuses are more the product of two struggling teams rather than their own play. Although in Karlsson's case I can say with certainty that his play in his own end has been much worse post-injury.

Gotta love your guys' Ryan Stanton with 10 ES (tied for 3rd among D) points and NO PP points. C'mon Torts... throw the kid a bone once in a while. :laugh3:

I hate that Borowiecki turned at the last second, it makes no sense

I dunno about that one...I think that was an unnecessary and dangerous hit. Looked like he was just trying to get to his feet.

It doesn't look like Westy was trying to all out hit him, I think he saw Borowiecki getting to his feet and tried to alleviate the hit - he would have been better off staying down on that play, he wouldn't have gotten crushed like he did, it's probably easy to say after the fact but I think those fast paced plays lead to situations like that sometimes

It's a fast play, but not a smart one from Westbrook. Borowiecki glanced over his shoulder, but I doubt he thought he was gonna get railed at that moment. You can't fault a guy for trying to stand up, especially when the play is right next to him.

I know what you mean but lol at "Westbrook"

I don't think Borowiecki thought he was going to be railed either but I don't think you can assume anything on the ice - the players are so strong that even when they don't mean to hit you hard, it can result in injury

It's just that plays near the boards are more dangerous than any part of the ice, when you are down, it's one thing if you're down in the middle of the ice or even on other areas of the ice, but the boards are always a dangerous place because that's where the players gravitate to get the puck

In the meantime, Carolina has three goals in about six minutes in the 2nd period, they lead Ottawa 3-1

Are you fucking kidding me??? LOL.

The guy is down and Westgarth is going to hit him? Why was Westgarth running a guy who was either already down or starting to get up? If that isn't the definition of going after a player who is vulnerable I don't know what is.

It's a ridiculously stupid play by Westgarth.

Man oh man, that Erat trade for Filip Forsberg was terrible, when did George McPhee start reading from the Darryl Sutter GM manual?

It'll be funny when Erat gets traded to a shitty team, and he'll see how it feels then
