Well, first off the Sens players (Cowan twice) and Smith once slashed Red Wings players behind the knee where no protection is and they did this obviously knowing the refs were not watching so neither got called and third Datsyuk called elbowed in the face by Cowan which was also missed by the blind zebras but hey I guess Mickey Redmond a former NHLer and 50 goal scorer and long time broadcaster doesn't know what he's talking about as FSD relayed all three of these cheapshots several times each.
Sens played a nasty game tonight and my Wings didn't convert on their 5 on 3 unfortunately.
Babcock thought penalty call on Kronwall late was a joke saying in postgame but hey he's never been the coach of team canada or won a SC so he's a deserves no respect either, lol.
Wish my Wings had some gritty forwards and defenseman but sadly our GM and coach would rather roster and play figure skaters. At least Smith held his own against Neil in that fight but most of team other than Bert are pushovers.
This game was playoff like for sure in intensity.

1) Punctuation can be your friend.

2) If you want to appear knowledgeable about the game you might try spelling a player's name correctly.

3) In what world does a one-handed slash, that wouldn't fell a 5 year old, to either players' leg make them fall down a full second later?

4) I'm glad the Red Wings announcers and their coaches sided with Detroit. I'm shocked.

Other than that great post.

Datsyuk just a had a nice dive too.

I haven't see the play, but I don't think he was faking.

The Wings will be without Pavel Datsyuk when they play Sunday in Buffalo and quite possibly a lot longer.

Datsyuk suffered what’s believed could be a concussion late in third period after taking an elbow to the jaw by Ottawa defenseman Jared Cowan.

Datsyuk did not make the trip with the team to Buffalo.

“We had to leave him behind,” Wings general manager Ken Holland told The Macomb Daily during a phone interview before flying to Buffalo. “He didn’t feel quite right after the game. We’re going through the league protocol.”

Sorry I mispelled Smith, lol.
Your reply to my post was whining about punctuation and spelling! You made your point and won the debate surely, lol. It's Saturday night and I'm dead sober and haven't been watching hockey since the early 1970s either :yahoo:
Let me cram a stick blade into the back of your knee and elbow you in the face and see if you smile and ask for another haha.
Bernier and Reimer the best goalies in the NHL btw? Yeah and Chris Neil won the People Mag most attractive man for 2013 lol.
Wings in bad shape anyway now forced to keep Nyquist but Kindl hurt tonight may have only five healthy defenseman. Ken Holland overpaying Tootoo and bad signing of Samuelsson and Cleary has team in salary cap poo.
I miss the Walrus man and would rather have him and Nill here instead of Babcock and Holland to be honest.
Probably see a change here if Red Wings miss playoffs.

Ugh Cowan. You know the Wings use to have players like him back in the day: Cheli and Konstantinov. I miss those days. He caught him good in the jaw but he I think kept playing afterwards.
Red Wings will probably trade for Gerbe and miss the playoffs or a 5' 9" defenseman that will help the offense but be a turnover machine aka Kindl.

So how about the goalbuster, Cam Talbot? Man is playing awesome since being called up and back to back shutouts! I love being confident in our backup when King Henrik needs a rest.

Tough division right now that Western Conference. Boston would be the only Eastern team in a playoff spot right now. Vancouver are 4 points out in 9th place with two more games played than Phoenix and what the fuck, Dallas is 8 points out right now in tenth place and not playing all that badly (although they've lost their last two)

Yeah; I caught the 2nd/3rd periods of last night's game, & he was certainly impressive.

Yeah. From a different angle I saw that Datsyuk got clipped. I didn't think he was the diving type so in a way that makes me feel better. I hope he doesn't miss much time.

LOL at jamming a stick into someone's knee. Those were soft plays that I've had done to me HUNDREDS of times over the last 30 years of playing hockey. That's up to and including an incident from last week. They're meant to irritate. You turn around and give the give shot back; no big deal. If you go down from those plays and either writhe in agony or spin like a top you are:

1) 8 years old and weigh about 60 lbs or,

2) Faking your ass off to try and draw a penalty.

I'm obviously not the only who thinks so. A diehard Sabres fan (no love for the Senators there) thinks they were dives too.

count me as another one with no dog in the fight who thinks those were ridiculously embarrassing dives.
and I'm a bit of an expert on diving, you see... I'm a canucks fan.

Might have to go to Blue Wolf Zero. He's a world renowned authority on diving, although he only seems to be able to identify others doing it and specifically when they aren't.

Here's some NHL trivia for today:

Two defensemen have 7 goals this season: One is Erik Karlsson, but who is the other?

Without looking, take your best guesses for who the other guy is that has 7 goals

had to look it up (I had guessed Buffy the Wonderslug)
also interesting the 6 of the 7 leading d-men goalscorers had a negative +/-

And zero assists. Terrible goal to assist ratio. Therefore one of the worst players in the league.
