Man, that was a beauty by Methot - Hip on hip (kinda the reason they call it a hip check methinks), didn't get low, not even close to the knee, should be made mandatory viewing.

It's totally true Boss. When you combine it the crackdown on headshots, hitting in general may start to become a lost art.

Or maybe more players will choose to go the hip check route rather than risk a penalty for a headshot. I think that's why Methot played the hip check on this play.

That may be true, but his ass was so wide half of his credited hip checks were of the unintentional variety.
