Ok I might have to admit Colorado is actually the real deal. 11-1 start is pretty damn impressive....
I am just having a hard time believing their team of talented garbage is that much better than the Oilers talented garbage...Maybe Roy is a great coach after all.

The Habs and Wild played a decent game tonight. Fun 3rd, the Wild were a bit better. Harding was great the first two periods.

That must have been some game. I checked on it and it was 2-0 Habs. Then 3-2 wild. I turned it on and the Habs tied it.

Went to bed, so I don't know how it finished though.

That's how you win hockey games, fans. Do what the Penguins did.

1) Make the chances you get count
2) Don't buckle when the pressure is on
3) Have your goaltender be superman

Good game Pens. Can't wait for the rematch tomorrow.

Took my uncle to the game last night. Seats on the second level, behind the Pens goal for 1st and 3rd, and saw Bob get pulled in the 2nd. Awesome view. Really liked being able to see the action looking down the ice instead of across it as you see it on TV. Fleury was amazing. Jackets had the momentum early in this one, but MAF made the saves to keep it even until his team woke up.

Should be a fun re-match tonight!

I don't know if it is Roy being a great coach as much as Sacco being a horrible coach. Although the Avs were smart in keeping Sacco around to tank their way into Nathan MacKinnon.

Downie out with a concussion after 1 game in Philly.

bad enough where he went to the hospital.
Lecavlier most likely out a couple of weeks, too.

thanks, Emery*

* note: I only watched the youtube clip, so am arbitrarily blaming the all out melee on Emery's rush down the ice.
my timing may be off. but still - 3rd star? who are the fucking idiots who made that call.

I don't know if it is still the case, but there used to be significant bonuses built into player's contracts based on the number of three star selections you accumulated over a course of a season.

Only elc's and over 35 contracts can have bonuses in them now

/Seravelli is being rightly ridiculed as a fanboy by his peers

It's funny how these things always seem to line up - Varly accused of hitting and kicking his girlfriend, gets released from jail, and now tonight the Avs send Foote's jersey to the rafters.

Sabres have put Patrick Kaleta on waivers

Good move by the Sabres, but I have to think part of why they are doing this is to save face in a year where they are tanking anyways?

Kaleta always gave 110% every time he stepped onto the ice, it's just too bad he progressively went downhill as far as being a player is concerned. At times he showed that he can actually contribute and be a part of the team.

I hope he turns things around in the AHL and comes back to the Sabres a better player.

Talk about an avalanche of emotions.

It actually was 1-0 wild, then 1-1, then 3-1 wild, 3-3 and ended 4-3.

It was a pretty damn entertaining game though.
