Nobody has cap space and most of the guys you'd consider claiming (say, Byron the other day) have too big a hit/term to even consider.Eric Comrie is on waivers today too.
I am actually surprised at how few people have been claimed on waivers lately. Wonder if there's some kind of agreement between the GMs that no one will fuck with taxi squad moves.
I was thinking more of the younger prospect types. Why aren't teams with space and needs grabbing up some cheap help? Gabriel Carlsson isn't getting in the lineup because of too many guys in front of him, not because he's terrible.Nobody has cap space and most of the guys you'd consider claiming (say, Byron the other day) have too big a hit/term to even consider.
Kid might turn out to be pretty good
What happened to Kent Nilsson? His production never really dropped or did he want to return to Europe?
Started watching some of his highlights trying to remember him.Kent Nilsson was Alexi Kovalev before anyone had heard of Alexi Kovalev. Very talented player and I think he did end up returning to Europe.
Just move the damn games until Texas gets it's shit together.
there was a reason he was called MagicStarted watching some of his highlights trying to remember him.
Yeah I see what you mean he is Kovalev! Shame the lack of motivation because from what I am watching, when on, he was very good.
That's what I thought at first then looking at his numbers in those two seasons:there was a reason he was called Magic
from what I remember, he was often invisible for 55 minutes, and still somehow put up a higlight reel goal and two assists.
edit:
looking at Kent Nilsson (b.1956) Hockey Stats and Profile at hockeydb.com he certainly fell off a cliff after Calgary.
i completely forgot he tried a comeback with Edmonton after 8 years in Europe. didn't go well.
Every time I see the name Kent Nilsson this comes to mindThat's what I thought at first then looking at his numbers in those two seasons:
GP: 122
G: 34
A: 89
PTS: 123
He wasn't the goal scorer in Minnesota or Edmonton but still put up points and had a pretty good playoff run with Edmonton during the SC playoffs.
As for his comeback he was 38, yeah no chance after being away that long.
Now that's the Penguins GM for you!Every time I see the name Kent Nilsson this comes to mind

outdoor NHL games are an abomination, but this right here is damned pretty
It's almost a shame that all he'll be thinking about while he's in there is how helpless he feels as the pucks fly past and through him.
Fucking goalies, amirite?
