Grumpy Old Man
From the article...
Carter, by comparison, will be 37 when his deal is up. As such, the executive theorized a first-round pick, prospect, and an existing contract would represent the ceiling of what the Kings could demand.
It’s still a big ask.
The Bruins gave up their 2018 first-rounder in the Rick Nash trade. It would not serve them well to go a second straight June without picking in the first round.
If GM Don Sweeney holds firm on keeping his first, he’d have to make up the price elsewhere. While Donato and Anders Bjork would be the likeliest targets, the conversation might expand to include Urho Vaakanainen and Jack Studnicka.
Thanks
His contract seems movable, but not at that price. For a team looking for a high AAV but little future cash outlay, Jeff Carter is the man. Cash salary next three years is 3,3,and 2M and the AAV is $5.27M. I am thinking he might be the first Captain of the Seattle Totems.
