From the article...

Carter, by comparison, will be 37 when his deal is up. As such, the executive theorized a first-round pick, prospect, and an existing contract would represent the ceiling of what the Kings could demand.

It’s still a big ask.

The Bruins gave up their 2018 first-rounder in the Rick Nash trade. It would not serve them well to go a second straight June without picking in the first round.

If GM Don Sweeney holds firm on keeping his first, he’d have to make up the price elsewhere. While Donato and Anders Bjork would be the likeliest targets, the conversation might expand to include Urho Vaakanainen and Jack Studnicka.

Thanks

His contract seems movable, but not at that price. For a team looking for a high AAV but little future cash outlay, Jeff Carter is the man. Cash salary next three years is 3,3,and 2M and the AAV is $5.27M. I am thinking he might be the first Captain of the Seattle Totems.

I think it's pretty funny that if Milan Lucic is still with the Edmonton Oilers when the Seattle expansion draft takes place that he will need to be protected due to his no movement clause.

A painful first goal for ref Tim Peel last night (no, it didn't count)

Sounds like a Sens player to me. They still have next year's first rounder to trade too!

Jeff Carter on the trade block?

Trade Dubinsky for him and then sit him in the mall and charge people 150 bucks a pop to hit him with a swim fin attached to a broom handle. Team will turn a profit in the span of a weekend.

what IS the price for Jeff Carter?

A year's supply of STD tests.

Athletic writers have been pushing Carter to Boston for about a month now with basically no evidence that either team is even thinking about it.

I can't think of a bigger waste of a trade than to go after Jeff Carter and then put him as a 3C but I am all for it if it's Boston doing it.

1) The (P)Athletic is running a special for the holidays, 1 dollar for 30 day's access. ACT NOW

2) I can think of a bigger waste of time involving trading for Jeff Carter.

Fuck Jeff Carter.

I take it that you got kicked out of the Jeff Carter fan club.

I found out where they were meeting and dumped two full truckloads of port-a-potty waste through the ceiling.

Can you imagine that team with Barzal, Boeser/Connor and Chabot all playing on ELCs right now?

Unbelievable. We'd be talking about a dynasty in the making, IMO.
Along with Toronto and TB's best, would any division in the game's Expansion Era history be able to boast three teams with top 6's as insanely talented as those three teams' would be?

Probably not in the expansion era.

Boston would have MacEvoy and Chabot on the back end too. With Krug, Carlo, etc. ...they'd be a powerhouse. I'd take their top 6 over TB or TO's too. But this IS a fantasy lineup, so no surprise that they'd look better than real teams.

Yeah, Boston really screwed up at the 2015 draft. A 1-2-3 centre punch of Bergeron, Krejci and Barzal would be all kinds of good.

hey 43, did you happen to catch this?

Can't say I saw it, but props to the kiddo for daring to hit a GOD DAMNED HERO.

I was impressed watching him. Kid straight up has that "x" factor. Something about him just radiates when he hits the ice.
