Chia's not stupid. He'll likely get a 2nd rounder in the deal too.

Frees up cap space; great deal for the Oilers, IMO.
I was thinking if Ray had to sweeten it...and I don't think he'll need to, Ben Lovejoy could be added but we'll need a 3rd or 4th rounder to even it up.

Pretty bad night when Mike Smith is the best goalie in an 8-6 game.

Wilson was admiring his pass on the trolley tracks and got DOANED!!! Just happened to be by Reaves this time. Everybody must get DOANED.

/pretty sure Wilson had a bounty on him to boot

For the record, I wanted to see it :D

Karma is a bitch.

Should Reaves be disciplined? Yes. Not even his first cheap shot this week (see Edler, Alexander).

All I would like is consistency from the League. Wilson did the same thing to Brett Seney and it was not deemed worthy of review by the League. To be consistent, the League should do nothing to Reaves.

*digs out Caps fans talking points from last week*

"It was shoulder to shoulder, so clean hit. Head wasn't targeted"

"He should be prepared to be hit there, it's his fault for not being aware"

"C'mon are we gonna take all hits out of the game?"

Did Wilson get a penalty for embellishment?

The Red Wings are broken.

https://www.freep.com/story/sports/.../detroit-red-wings-anthony-mantha/2202687002/

“There’s inherent risk in playing hockey,” coach Jeff Blashill said. “There’s inherent risk in getting into a fight. He was sticking up for Larkin in that case, who got his head rung against the boards.

“I know this: he’d do it again. And I’m good with him doing it again. I want him to do it again.

Unless he's just really trying to lose his job, this is crazy.

Exactly - Oilers head of propaganda Bob Stauffer was ripping on Matthew Tkachuk for not fighting Zack Kassian a couple of weeks ago. Why should Tkachuk engage with a knuckle dragging plug like Kassian when he's one of the top players on the Flames?

/Also, it was interesting to see Alex Chiasson of the Oil (one of their top goal scorers) turtle his way out of a fight against Dallas the other night. Interestingly enough, Bob didn't have anything to say.

//As an aside, when Alex Chiasson is one of your top goal scorers, your team is in trouble.

It looked like a clean hit to me. Wilson was admiring his pass and it didn't look like a hit to the head. Looked shoulder to shoulder. He didn't launch himself into Wilson nor did he leave his feet.

At least that is how I saw it.

She knowz !!! :pound:

I wonder how deep Rob Blake went down his list before landing on Willie's name - I mean, I can't think he was his first choice, but guys like AV and Coach Q are getting paid lots of money to not coach and probably looked at that roster and said "Yeesh".

All the talk of the Reaves hit on Wilson, but the hit of the night (totally clean as well) was OV on Nosek.
