Pfft...you're going to have to do better than that. Sabres got shut out AND got their best player suspended for two games against the Avs. Team wasn't committed early in the season, but they've really got everyone buying into the system now.

Pfft...you're going to have to do better than that. Sabres got shut out AND got their best player suspended for two games against the Avs. Team wasn't committed early in the season, but they've really got everyone buying into the system now.

Sabres are pushing Oilers territory - not quite four 1st overalls but if they wind up with a lottery pick this year that's four in six years to go along with three 8th overalls in the last seven years.

Yeah, 8th or earlier every year since 2013. Not there yet without some lottery luck, but only 6 points up on a top 5 pick and heading in that direction.

They really need to hit it out of the park this offseason. They're risking Eichel asking out if they don't.

They...could...figure it out. I'd try to deal Ristolainen and take a stab at Erik Karlsson if I were them, long shot but enough money and who knows. See if they can grab one of the Isles' UFA wingers too. That along with keeping Skinner and hoping that Mittelstadt and Nylander show up to play next year could be enough.

Although I have no idea wtf they do about their goaltending, unless they're really convinced by Ullmark.
