Theres was talk kesler would sit out the entire season in sept because physically hes a mess but he decided to play

My guess is he wants to be bought out as opposed to retiring and walking away from that money

To be fair, that's quite a chunk of change to walk away from - I think most players would do the same.

I thought you traded these type of players/contracts to the Yotes when you reached the end of the line. With that being said, he's been the Ducks sixth best C this season so he's still got some mileage left before the tread wears off completely.

The HNIC panel is saying that the Leafs need to play a heavier game. Kyle Wellfed is heavy :D

Wellwood might actually be in better shape now than in his playing days.

He played for the canucks alumni in a game prior to the superskills challenge in december and it was like Al Bundy at the senior olympic games. I think he had 5 goals but no safeway score and win for Gurpreet in Surrey :ohwell:

FIRST STAR – MARK GIORDANO, D, CALGARY FLAMES

Giordano paced the NHL with 3-5—8 in four games to power the Western Conference-leading Flames (30-13-4, 64 points) to a perfect week and their fifth straight win overall. He collected one helper in a 4-3 triumph over the Chicago Blackhawks Jan. 7. Giordano then registered his fifth career three-assist outing (and third of the season) in a 5-3 victory against the Colorado Avalanche Jan. 9. He followed that up with one goal in a 4-3 win over the Florida Panthers Jan. 11. Giordano capped the week by playing in his 800th NHL game, celebrating with 2-1—3 (his sixth career multi-goal performance) in a 7-1 victory over the Arizona Coyotes Jan. 13. The 35-year-old Toronto native ranks second among NHL defensemen with 9-38—47 through 45 contests this season. Giordano, who was +7 for the week, also tops all players with a +36 rating in 2018-19.

Gotta be the front runner for the Norris this season, what with Borowiecki missing time with injury and all.
