Doesn't hold water, either - it was a Saturday night game, their next game wasn't until Wednesday and the game didn't end until about 1 AM Eastern time. Why would they make the players fly home that night and get back to Chicago at 5 AM for no reason? They almost certainly stayed the night and left in the morning.

Has a team ever won it's first 9 games then missed the playoffs??

I'm really enjoying this, as my October Facebooks feed was littered with parade routes down St-Catherine street and comparisons to the 70s Habs teams.

One of the two points in this news item is the REAL reason why the Scabs might miss the playoffs.
Hint: the main principle's name rhymes with Lerrien.

The problem is that if they miss the playoffs they'll almost certainly dump Therrien rather than letting him continue to fuck things up. I can't celebrate this decline too much for that reason.

I respect that, but on the last part: she won't file a complaint, most likely. And people will say that's because she's a liar. It's not. Look at ANY r*pe case that's occurred in the public eye and you'll have your answer as to why.

Thank you, and FWIW, I dont buy the "she is lying, thats why she wont press charges" either. That is a ridiculous argument as well

I have no idea if the team went back to CHI that night or not. This is easily proved or disproved.

Anecdotally, it seems that teams tend to get out of town after games, even at that hour (see the injured baggage handler story) and maybe the team was in a hurry to get home after a long road trip. Seems possible to me that they did fly back to CHI that night, but then again, it seems possible they decided to have a night out at the end of a long road trip.

Kinda different - Leafs played 2 days later, and the flight from St. Louis to Toronto is less than 2 hours long.
