I long that was a good idea. Both the larger ice surface and giving teams a range of sizes they can be between for their ice surface.

And make the rink constantly adjustable. Or they can make the rink asymmetrical!!!

One game against the Habs there is tonnes of space down the right side. Next time? NADA!!

I was listening to Scotty Bowman a week or so ago on the radio and he had the idea of making the defensive zones smaller (i.e. bringing the blue lines in closer to the net) by five feet. His thinking was that it would stop teams collapsing down by the net in their own zone as you would have to keep forwards high to cover defensemen as they are that much closer to the net to rip a slapper. Also, a larger neutral zone would likely get more speed and flow into the game. Of course, why would anybody want to listen to Scotty Bowman?

There's a reason Scotty hasn't coached in the league for over a decade. Never listen to somebody who can't even get an HC interview!

Didn't we decrease the size of the neutral zone a while back to eliminate the effectiveness of the trap?

If they really want to open up the game, they should move the benches to behind the net. LONG CHANGE!

It's an interesting thought, but wouldn't it just wind up crowded as hell in the zone? Feel like that might be counter-productive to increasing goalscoring for the most part.

I'm listening....could the dimensions be changed between periods as well or just between games?

You only get 3 in-game changes... until the playoffs. Then only the top 2 seeds in each conference and any team from the New York or Toronto area can make any changes.

Obviously this all only happens if the home team coach wins his challenge.

Do you get a dimension change in the bank?

Add "change in the bank" and I'm on board

Montreal continues its free fall, Carey Price can't come back quickly enough.

Carey cannot score goals. I firmly believe if Carey had been healthy the last 2 months that the Habs may have one 3 or 4 more games. If that.

Pretty much. Kind of like Cory Schneider is 5-4 in his last 9 games. He has give up 2+ goals once during that span. A goaltender can only do so much.

Now I'm waiting for Hollywood to release 'Dirty Goalie' starring Martin Brodeur.

Okay, so no trade brewing then?

:D

Edit: On the other hand...

Chris Nichols @NicholsOnHockey
McKenzie: Drouin "trying to put some leverage on the #TBLightning to trade him, by making himself, effectively, a diminishing asset."
