They'll obviously make some signings in addition to Stamkos and the youngsters brought up, but I'd rather them try to sign guys who will actually improve the team. It's obvious Grabner isn't a Babcock fave so why waste more time? Leafs could actually make gains next season if they play it right.I'm surprised that you're assuming (hoping?) that no one who is under contract for next year will be traded.

So there's 6 or 7 more spots. I'm including Froese among the Marlies call-ups because I haven't seen anything this year to suggest that he'll be more equipped to handle the NHL next year than the guys that are down there. But there are a lot of spots to fill even if you include Froese. If Winnik gets dealt (not at all unlikely) that's another spot. And like I said, that's with all of the guys you want to see dealt coming back.
If they don't sign somebody there are going to be a lot of Marlies forced to play much much tougher minutes than you'd like them to while breaking into the league.
