For an Original Six example I have the Blackhawks' record from '46 to '56 at 183-389-98.

I'm sure there are a few more, those were just the first two teams that came to mind (I thought of the Blackhawks because of Muldoon's curse)

I havent had a chance to go look, but I was thinking pre-expansion era, and the Rags and Bs were pretty gawdawful on a regular basis also. The first 10 years for the Caps must have been pretty lame also, I would imagine.

Not sure how to factor in or out the OT factor, though.

I've got the Scouts/Rockies/Devils at 174-496-130 over their first 10 years. The Oilers over the last 10 years can't be anywhere close to that, even after accounting for the shootout/OT wins.

Edit: 308-383-95 for the Oilers. Not really close.
Leafs from 79-80 to 88-89 were 263-443-94 so even they have the Oilers' number.

Well shoot, this blew up in my face (lol). I think the point about unfounded smugness and arrogance still stands, though.

Kenny, that was some fancy backpedaling by Glenn Anderson above.

I'm so freaking sick of hearing about Farnham. Pens fans (some at least, most it's a running joke) bring up his 7 goals and complain that he was waived. He's shooting like over 30%, but yeah. Let's ignore the fact that he has multiple screws loose. Who the hell does that? Gets hit cleanly, jumps up and just mauls the closest guy to him?

Man, that Oilers - Panthers game coming up could be old time hockey with Hendricks returning from suspension and Kassian in the lineup. Do the Oilers dress Gazdic for that game as well?

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Anze Kopitar's 8-year, $80M ($10M AAV) contract with LAK is, finally, in final stages of paperwork. So not officially "done" but very close

Wasn't Dreger saying just yesterday that it appeared that the Kings and Kopitar were at an impasse regarding contract negotiations?
