Oooh, that's intriguing.
Or maybe they get in on Drouin by moving one or the other (pick or Werenski). Stamkos probably ain't signing in Columbus and they probably don't have the cap space for it anyway, so a younger controllable asset would do it. Wouldn't shock me, and fuck they gotta do something to recoup RyJo's production at some point.

Or they package that pick and Werenski for Stamkos...

Oooh, that's intriguing - If that pick is number one overall (aka Matthews), no way do I do it, but I think about it a lot longer if it isn't.

Nice of you guys to dance on my grave like that.

Good thing I have hockey practice in an hour. The boy is going to get a lot of slap shots tonight.

Well, you've got Jones and Murray. Like dash said, that's as good a young pair in the league as there is. Drouin would be a hell of an addition. Not a C but you still have Dubinsky...

Do the Jets accelerate moving Big Buff now? Certainly trying to make the post-season in the Central Division got a heck of a lot tougher now.

I think that the swap is pretty much perfect in that both teams addressed a need...but then I remember that John Tortorella is in charge. Soon Seth Jones will be blocking shots, breaking bones, and having zero confidence with the best of them. Jones is very, very good...forgotten about sometimes because of the Nashville factor I think. But going to Columbus in it's current state isn't likely to do him many favors. As a fan of a team that sees too much of Columbus...I'm not exactly upset at this at the moment. RyJo was their best player...and they got one guy in return, with one fewer year on his deal. Columbus is going to have to get creative with the cap soon...some veterans making ugly money.

That's...not encouraging stuff really. Really though, just those top ones are super rough. Although the Nash deal...if they move Rychel...not so great.

Still trying to figure out how the Kings will acquire Seth Jones.
Nick Shore, Luke Schenn and a 1st ought to do the trick.

Some are speculating this is a gap filler until Jay Beagle returns from injury.

Yeah, I get the role he is filling. But we are doing fine without Beags because we have crazy depth. Maybe it will actually work out well, and they could always just healthy scratch him if it doesn't. But I just think when your team chemistry is going so great and everyone is on the same page with the team's approach and everything is going so well, I just don't think taking a chance on creating drama or issues with that is worth it.

Quick is having a better season than Anderson so it's gonna be skewed a touch regardless, but the Sens are allowing more than a full goal per 60 more with Karlsson on the ice than the Kings are with Doughty. I'm not denying Doughty can get blown by on occasion, but overall LA's better defensively with him on the ice than the Sens are with Karlsson and it's really not close at the moment even when taking into account that Karlsson is better offensively.

Oh. For sure Doughty is better defensively than Karlsson. He's a fantastic player; one of the best D in the game.

I just feel that any shortcomings from Doughty tend to get overlooked because he "plays the compete game" while the Karlssons and Klingbergs get picked apart for just about everything.
