Have any of you westerners had issues trying to watch east-coast games lately where they're almost all blacked out? I swear up until a few weeks ago so many more Canucks, Oilers and Flames games were available on SNW and SNP feeds that aren't now.

YOUNG CROSBY had a pretty filthy goal yesterday, and actually has more goals than Kid Canada:

The poll question on the TSN 1040 web site yesterday was who should have the Canucks selected 6th overall in the 2014 draft? Young Crosby was one of the choices.

You re-do the draft today and he's top 5 for sure. Having a great rookie campaign.

Wait just a darned minute. DET has a 19 year old in their lineup?

Did Grand Rapids get swallowed up by an earthquake or something?

Hats off to Mike Cvik who is working his final NHL game tonight at the Saddledome (29 years as a NHL linesman).

Hockey Central is on, and they are talking about the Leafs and who has trade value. It was mentioned that Kadri and Gardener have value right now.

DOUG MACLEAN just said it's a big mistake for a GM to trade young core pieces unless it's a blockbuster high value return trade.

He would do Kadri for Drouin, but not much else beyond that.

He sometimes sounds sane.

30 Thoughts mentioned Benning saying the other day that he's "never heard it so quiet" on the trade front, and Friedman says he's heard that from many GMs.

The number of Leafs that have pumped up their value is pretty long, but right now I couldn't even tell you who has value that I would miss and who has value I would be okay with giving up other than Bozak and Komarov. I'm sure JVR looks worthwhile to almost every GM in the league but if they were to trade him for Drouin today I would probably be pissed (as opposed to in July when I would've been ecstatic). This is probably the fear most GMs are feeling right now, and why we haven't seen moves for guys like Hamonic or Drouin materialize as yet.

I was going to suggest that yesterday, but was afraid BBB would take me to task (again) for minimizing Kadri's value.

Too much parity in the league, owners want playoff revenue so GM's are gun-shy of making any moves in-season that could jeopardize their team's chances (as well as their jobs).

/Kill the cap, right BBB?

It would pain me to trade Kadri straight up for Drouin, but I'd probably make that deal.

Only problem I have with that is moving him means they'd probably have to hold onto Bozak when I feel they should be moving him while his value is highest, and that just fucks everything up. If I had to choose between getting Drouin and moving Bozak for future assets, I'd rather move Bozak.
