Honestly I do not know, I assumed he does at least somewhat because I remember people thinking the Canadiens should have made him the head coach years ago before Carolina did. He was also a captain on the Habs and aren't people fussy if the captain doesn't speak French?

If he doesn't, is he wise enough to learn it now just in case?
If he doesn't, is it possible he gets a pass because he won a cup on the team?

Dammit, now I am not as happy as I was last night.

Maybe the local lovelies have eased up on the captain needing to speak Quebecois - there's no way in hell any of Koivu, Gionta or Patches spoke it upon taking the C and I'm doubtful either of the first two spoke it well by the end of their tenures.

Holland is trying to move the cap hit but knows he likely has to add a sweetner
Jurco, Pulkinen, names like that are being added as sweetner for a team to take Datsyuk's cap hit

Lucic wants to stay in LA and LA want to sign him
Lucic has grown open to the idea of hitting the market
Vancouver and Edmonton will likely make offers if he hits the market

Also, I think the Wings need to ditch Howard more than they need to move Dats' contract in order to sign Stamkos. I still think if the Wings are truly fucked with regards to Dats' deal Pavel will just come back and play out his final year. With Howard's albatross, combined with Green's albatross and Zetterberg's developing albatross and Radulov's upcoming albatross, they need to lose one albatross.
