I think Halak isn't the best starter and Greiss is the perfect backup.

This is when it counts the most though, and if Greiss can't hold his own it's going to suck to say "we blew this season on shitty goaltending".

Halak will likely miss the first week of the playoffs. If the Isles can just stay even the first week he'll likely be back for the rest of the series. However, they've got to make the playoffs first. There are zero guarantees at this point, but I expect them to make it.

They need more from Strome to. I expected him to play much better than he has this season.

I've been yelling at Strome and Bailey all season. Strome has been just average out there and Bailey is just being Bailey. And it's not like these guys aren't getting the ice time....

Certainly appears that the 'Wheel of Justice' at the DOPS landed on '3' today...

Yelling at Bailey is a waste of time. He is what he is. There was a time when I thought if he was the go to guy Bailey would produce more. He played well at times when Tavares was out of the linep & Josh was given more responsibility. Those thoughts have long sense sailed. Strome played so well last season.

Not that the Ducks are choir boys (in fact, they are one of the douchiest teams in the league) but if you watch the incident in real time there is no reason a ref should miss making a call on this - in fact, when a player gets cross checked in the neck just above the face off dot and a ref is on the goal line and not only doesn't call it, but calls another player on the Ducks for a hook in the vicinity something is wrong. This happened with 5 minutes to go in the third period of a 3 goal game but lets call a hook instead of a suspendable infraction.
Personally I think it should have been a two minute penalty but whatever, the wheel has spoken.

Didn't Strome play mostly at C last season though? Switch to the wing may have hurt him.

Starting to think that Landeskog is heading down the Shane Doan path to the gritty leadership promised-land.

That is a seriously douchy hit, IMO.

Agreed Kenny (and it is not the first time that Gabe has crossed the line between physical and dirty either).

The good news is that he plays for a classy head coach who I'm sure will set him straight and make sure this doesn't happen again.

He played C a lot last year with Lee and Nelson (who's another C). Like I said earlier, we have too many friggen Centers on this team. Barzal will obviously make this more complicated should he make the team next year.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Strome gets traded. I could see it happening.

By the way, the zebras who officiated that Sharks - Oilers game the other night and who Kerry Fraser lambasted in his TSN piece the other day: Eric Furlatt and Tom Kowal.

/I wouldn't want Furlatt to officiate my beer league games.

I can't wait to continue to read the articles wondering how much the Habs can get for Galchenyuk. Oh I hope they can get the #1 center they have needed for the 20+ years I have been a fan.

OK, I'm ready for this season to end. I don't care who it is, hate to see the stretcher come out.
