Kings won after some firewagon 3-on-3 and odd man rushes back and forth.

But that's a pretty pathetic breakdown by the Kings to lose a 3-goal lead to a team on the road playing its 6th game in 9 nights with a west coast swing thrown in.

That Kings' team going nowhere in the playoffs this year methinks.

TJ Oshie was phenomenal tonight.
Swear words were yelled at the TV at my house.

Isles may be in trouble without Halak.

I look at it this way. This is a golden opportunity for Greiss to show what he can do back there. He's already had a great season (doesn't he lead the NHL in Save %?).

I thought he had a decent game last night and made some quality saves. One thing the Isles have done all year is carry three goalies. Berube hasn't gotten much time, but he's shown he can play in between the pipes as well.

For the better part of this season, Greiss has actually been better than Halak.

I think Halak isn't the best starter and Greiss is the perfect backup.

This is when it counts the most though, and if Greiss can't hold his own it's going to suck to say "we blew this season on shitty goaltending".

Agreed but I'm okay with this....

41 JAROSLAV HALAK 2.30 18 13 4 3 984 80 .919 0 1 0
1 THOMAS GREISS 2.23 18 6 4 1 877 62 .929 0 1 2

7 less losses (granted in 9 less starts), a higher save percentage, lowers GAA. Halak has been average all year and hasn't impressed me all that much. Greiss' stats are a little better. Maybe with a higher workload they'll even improve?

Like I said, I'm okay with this for now. This is why Garth got Greiss and picked up Berube on waivers. But yes, it would be awful to say they couldn't get past round 1 because of goaltending. Especially when Lundqvist will likely be at the other end of the rink.

I need to make another visit to the HHOF in Toronto, that place is awesome.
Yeah I haven't been since before high school. Maybe try to get there during the World Cup in September. Was always a fun birthday party location.

That said, it was a beauty of an OT winner.

Yeah, nice finish from Lucic.

And in mine during the first two periods. The Kings did an excellent defensive job against us through the first two in that game but the Caps were also making bad passes, losing puck off sticks, etc. I thought both teams had great effort, but the Caps did not look sharp. Of course, L.A. had something to do with that. ;)

I was only in Toronto once back in 1999 and it was with a bunch of knucklehead fraternity brothers who had no interest in going. Apparently getting drunk and going to strips clubs was more a priority at 11am.

I definitely regert that.

You definitely need to go back.

When you walk into the room with the cup and all the trophies and all the faces... one of a kind experience.

Maybe I will make the trip up this summer.

I revisited the Baseball HOF about 3 years ago. It was the first time I had been back there since I was 12 (now 37). I'm so glad I did that too, gave me such appreciation for the sport.

I usually drive everywhere, so Cooperstown was only about 6.5 hours from where I live in Northern VA. That extra 2 plus hours might force me to fly though. Maybe I can get my beer league on board and we can do a low level tourney up that way.....

Tough to argue that. Kerry Fraser's view was spot on to me. Did the league get one right this time?

Some Oilers fans are whining about the league picking on them once again (some arguing Nurse didn't do anything different than Max Domi who was recently suspended for one game). Oilers fans gonna Oil.

Just visited the HHOF myself this past Christmas. I had been in Toronto something like 12 weeks over two years for work and never got to go, so I made a special trip up.

Totally worth it!
