Was Doug Risebrough a horrible GM? Absolutely he was. Plenty of blame to go around during that time, but I also think some of that blame lands at the feet at Gilmour.

I see it as Riseborough's fault and I always have.

To be fair though, Dougie himself hints at his own reactions to things as part of the problem in this article, so what do I know?

Gilmour is a good 1, what he did with those Toronto teams in the mid 90's was awesome.

I have no problem with assigning the majority of the blame at the feet of Risebrough, it just sucked at the time that a pretty good Flames team was decimated by that 10 player trade.

/It also sucked that Gary Leeman took 20 games to score his first goal in a Flames uniform.

In 2 years' time, the Atlantic Division may make for some bloody red seas. Every team in the division has a realistic shot of being competitive by then, so any disadvantage to a rival is A-OK by me.

Yeah well I'll give you a call when Tom Kurvers gets his HHOF call.

Kerry Fraser weighs in on the Nurse - Polak altercation:

A player that is deemed to be both the instigator and the aggressor of an altercation, shall be assessed an instigating minor penalty, a major penalty for fighting, a ten minute misconduct which is elevated to a game misconduct in the final five minutes, plus an additional game misconduct for being the aggressor. That is what Darnell Nurse should have been assessed on this play instead of a roughing minor and five minutes for fighting.

Polak didn't deserve the fighting major penalty that he was assessed. To be perfectly frank, Roman Polak did not deserve a single penalty in this encounter with Nurse. Bloodied and with his gloves still on his hands, Polak was a victim of the unprovoked attack. The penalty assessment in this incident was poorly handled

Did he get another shift right after the second goal?

If he didn't, I can't understand why a 10 second shift would take so much out of you? At least give him a chance to break the hat trick record.

I'm not sure as I'm not viewing the game tonight (box score hero). Does Bill Mosienko still hold the record? (3 goals in 21 seconds)

Gus Bodnar with the fastest three assists to go with.
(I like the side-trivia)

No hat-trick for Johnny Hockey, but a 3-pt night (apple on the Backlund OT winner).

Pretty nice comeback from 3-0 down, eloco. Now go get that bonus point.

Kings won after some firewagon 3-on-3 and odd man rushes back and forth.

But that's a pretty pathetic breakdown by the Kings to lose a 3-goal lead to a team on the road playing its 6th game in 9 nights with a west coast swing thrown in.

That Kings' team going nowhere in the playoffs this year methinks.

TJ Oshie was phenomenal tonight.
