Looks like there may be some late season races for the final playoff spots. I think Philly makes it in the East over Detroit. Minnesota too over Colorado. Sadly no Canadian teams make it this year.

I think I heard on the radio this morning that Philly has three games remaining with Pittsburgh. If one team were to sweep those games, they could put a severe damper on the other team's chances of making the playoffs.

/Pittsburgh doesn't have a playoff spot locked up by any means.

Speaking of the Penguins, I see Tom Sestito is in the lineup tonight. Man, this dude is one horrible hockey player.

Hamonic skate save and a beauty on Kessel...

I've been perfectly happy to give Kessel some time to settle in before I evaluate that trade. But my god, it's not possible that he's already forgotten how to lift the puck? Two gaping nets tonight, and he can't lift it an inch off the ice.

Maybe Phil needs to wind up in Buffalo so Rick J. can constantly remind him where the cookies are hidden.

I know he probably doesn't have a single fan outside of Boston but how about the season that Marchand is having? he could score 40:eek:

Marchand is such a polarizing figure - Watch him get named to Team Canada for the World Cup of Hockey and everybody throw their support behind the U23's.

I didn't see it, but I heard that Darnell Nurse jumped Roman Polak in the Sharks - Oilers game tonight. I think Nurse was upset about a perceived hit on Hendricks, At any rate, Nurse busted up Polak pretty good based on what I've read.

The result would have been no different had he lifted that one. If Hamonic wasn't there, he still had Greiss beat to the post, elevated or not.

A clear sign that the Flames are tanking would be giving Hiller starts between the pipes. Obviously, you can't play Ortio every game, but barring injury to Ortio, if Hiller even gets 5 starts in the remaining 16 games, that should raise some eyebrows.

Taking a bath, yous, for Matthews?
Go down the drain for Laine?
Cut the Havarti for Puljujarvi?

Does Kessel back check at all? The game was so fast last night and I noticed that at least three times on break outs he was already up at the Isles blueline.

Lee, Hamonic, and Hickey had fantastic games. And what Leddy brings to the PP is fantastic. That was a pretty exciting 2-1 game.

I have to say I'm very happy that Marchand is having such a good year.

Means the B's will have to sign him to a fucking ridiculous extension this summer and inch ever-so-closer to permanent cap hell :thumb:
