I can't defend the dollars that BT signed Engelland to, but Deryk has been pretty solid in his time with the Flames. A stop-gap while Calgary waits for some young D prospects to ripen.

It's more than Price. They got a spark when Gallagher came back but it faded fast then Terrien fucks around with the lines in a panic. The guy is useless.

Don't hold your breath on a Price return. They'll keep slipping it and slipping it. I'm starting to think he may not be back!

It's a running joke - lot of pundits/fans keep blaming this all on not having Carey as if he helps the team score.

No. You and I argued with someone for a page about that with @sabresfaninthesouth I think, but he was saying they'd contend for the playoffs IIRC.

Even that was a stretch, though.

EDIT: Should say that the playoffs were a stretch. They have definitely improved, even if they're still at the bottom.

My thought was that they would hang around the playoff race for most of the season but miss out eventually. Clearly I was wrong about that.

Except for the Habs, great! Their season is fast becoming a complete bust. Hard to watch after such a great start!
