But does he even want a change of scenery? He likely doesn't face near the media crush that other guys making the kind of money he does faces on a daily basis and lives in an area where you can golf year round etc. Even if he takes a pay cut from his 9.5 million that he's currently making, he's in a sweet situation.
When I looked at the initial injury, which most have said he simply keeps re-aggravating, it looks MCL like to me. Generally speaking that's not a terrible injury to come back from as long as you don't rush it, BUT with a goalie, the chance of re-injury is high because they're stressing that ligament constantly. Any time a guy is in the butterfly, the MCL is at risk.
I lost it with the Tinordi/Scott trade. A young guy and great prospect who just didn't get along with Therrien. I would have gotten rid of the coach first. Now they bury Scott in some fucked up league deal instead of throwing a popular guy on the ice in the hopes of generating even the smallest of sparks. What do you want to bet Montreal gets the 2017 Winter Classic for being involved in that trade. Dirty deals done dirt cheap!

How many fanbases will say something similar this year?
Even if a straight up re-injury doesn't happen, the parts just wear out and it plays havoc with every other muscle system. You have chronic knee problems, eventually it will morph to groin issues, or cause wear and tear on your ankles because of how you subconsciously compensate with your movements. And goalies have it worse because a big part of their position is muscle memory. You have to train yourself to move a particular way to be effective. Then when you can't do it exactly anymore, you hurt other things or easily reinjure that which causes you trouble in the first place so much easier. I roll my ankle at least once a month now. Just walking.
Sorry, but if Price stays out the rest of the year he most likely gives up the starters role at the World Cup to Holtby. If Carey can play, he's playing.
Playing for your country on home soil?Does Carey Price (or the Canadiens) really care that much about the World Cup of Hockey?

Is that a question you're really asking?

FIFA World Cup makes a fuck ton for FIFA and not a heckuva lot for the players. Guess they're miserable at those tournies too?It is when it's simply a tourney designed to line the pockets of the NHL - I mean, take a look at the smile on Mario Lemieux's face as he is presented with the World Cup of Hockey trophy back in 2004.

The joy and emotion on display is awe-inspiring, no?

Maybe he didn't want to smile so much considering he was an owner and thus profiting and would seem ill-mannered?
Also, the lockout started days later so it was kind of a shitty mood all around.
The players will make money off of the WC just like the owners so why wouldn't they be happy with the tournament? It also more closely follows the Canada Cup mould of multi-game knockouts which alone make it better than the Olympics in my eyes.
If Team Canada is really going to include rat marchand for his "leadership", then I'm cheering for Horvat and the kids.Regarding the tourney itself, I still don't know which team I'm supporting. I mean my support is usually for Team Canada, but the U23 team will likely have the most Flames players along with a bunch of other young stars that I enjoy watching in the NHL.
