The cameraman trailing five feet behind every breakaway should be wearing a Jack Johnson jersey so Blue Jackets fans will feel at home.
Garth Brooks playing in Baltimore the day the all star game is in Nashville! Coincidence? I think not. Looks like Baltimore is getting a NHL team!
Go Crabs Go!
And fans of their teams. Who pay 41 times a year to watch them, plus playoffs. And buy merch. And watch on television so teams and the league can keep getting fat TV contracts. To them.
Now that the ASG is over I never have to hear about John Scott again, right?
...He's going to replace PJ Stock on Sportsnet, BBB.

/each fight would be officiated by Elliot Friedman![]()
Blake Price on the cesspool just said that John Scott was offered a radio broadcaster position a year ago, but turned it down when the Coyotes signed him to a contract.
Report: Devcore hopes to buy Senators in bid
I don't understand why the only two proposals for this land involve a new arena for a team that built its arena less than 20 years ago, location be damned.
I've never heard of Devcore, but Candarel is a pretty big developer here so I'm assuming they handle the development part of the proposal and Devcore is a post-punk band that plays music in meetings with city officials while LeBreton Flats provide backup vocals.Saw that tweet. Been gone too long I guess, I have no idea who Devcore is or what Lebreton Flats is. Unless LF is a hot new country music group
If so, the lead singer for LF must hawt, if you are willing to take on the Sens just to get your hands on her!
Seriously, what does the tweet mean?

This is why I'm kinda disappointed by this all. My dislike for public funding going towards stadia for billionaires is well-documented and the kind of large-scale project this is likely to be is almost too perfect for sucking public money from. Combine that with the hundreds of alternative uses and it's just a waste of amazing land to me.My main beef is that I wouldn't put it past Melnyk to do all sorts of petty things with the team and/or buildings/proposed buildings in an effort to extort as much money from the public purse as possible.
It should also be noted that I believe both proposals (the Melnyk one for sure) calls for 70% of the usage of the venue to be for non-hockey events. That would be huge for the small businesses downtown.

One thing that's nice to see is cities that were burned before refusing to shell out any more public money. It's a start. There's nothing quite as cruel as the charade leagues and teams put on to get public money. It's appalling. The NFL doing it pisses me off more than most, simply because they're worth billions but still shake the coffer in the public's face. But it makes me think about the Pens situation. I know it's hardball, and that's just how you play the game, blah blah blah, but it sucks. Of course if they simply had given the Pens the casino license, then they don't have to threaten moving, etc. But what sucks is you play on fans' emotions. You know public perception will be in your favor, mostly, because the fans want their team around. This situation is obviously different, though. Asking for public money to build a new arena that, even if nice and used for other things, is still wholly unnecessary, is just a slap in the face.

But some are still dense - Milwaukee is shelling out hundreds of millions for a new barn for the Bucks, Edmonton gave Katz a boatload to build a new garage for his 1972 Ford Pinto of a team, Buffalo is probably going to end up giving money to "saviour" Pegula etc. It's one things when it's major cities being dumb (NYC with the Yankees and Mets), but Buffalo? Milwaukee? You're scamming the poor.
It would shock me if Buffalo gave any public funding for a stadium. They love the Bills, but that city's been broke since long before the Bills last made the playoffs.Again, preying on what's close to their hearts. Imagine being the politician deemed responsible for Buffalo losing a team (never would happen, that person would be assassinated first...but still)! They'll cave because of the emotions involved. Owners know it. And they tighten the purse strings with glee.
