Must have been 10 each for Clark and Bower, cause it sure wasn't Keon

Keon got one and it was big news for the obvious reason. That's fine by me.

But yeah, like you said, those two might as well have their own offices at the ACC for the amount of times they've been paraded around.

Personally, I was a much bigger fan of Ed Belfour's leather jacket night.

I am guessing that the Domi night you are remembering was because he reached 1,000 NHL games (and of course was while he was still an active Maple Leaf)? I can't think of/remember anything else it could be. And I have no problem with that.

Maybe that was it. Still.

Keon's never had a night though. He's showed up for a couple of anniversaries of cup winning teams, but that's it.

Honouring a player for his 1,000th game is pretty standard shit I think though, it's not a Leaf thing.

no matter the player, skill, position, team or hate level. every player that makes 1000 games should get a big night. EVERY player.

When Olli Jokinen hit 1,000 games, he had a Big Mac night.

Old article, but a good one.

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/13/sports/hockey/13goalies.html?_r=0

If you stack us up against Gilles Gratton we're gonna come out quite normal. You stack anyone - Charles Manson, Miley Cyrus, That guy on Ancient Aliens... All normal compared to Gilles.

FTA:
Gratton, who played for the Rangers in 1976-77, told people he was reincarnated and had once been a soldier in the Spanish Inquisition. He refused to play when the moon was in the wrong part of the sky.

There were also stories of Bernie Parent yelling - during play - that he needed to talk to one of his defensemen. During stoppages, he would rush out and grab one of his teammates and talk intently to them. Announcers would be like "This is great, Bernie is discussing strategy".

Apparently he would just be telling teammates what he planned to have for dinner or where he bought his favorite shoes. Bill Barber said that Bernie came over while Billy was fighting someone and kept saying "I think I will have 2 slices of the pizza, Bill. I think that's a great idea. 2 Slices. What do you think Bill?".

So yeah. Maybe they have mellowed a bit*.

Just read a story about how there was a faceoff in his zone and just as the puck dropped he roared like a lion and his center stood up and turned around, startled and the other team got the puck and scored.

I like this guy.

Keon has been twice both to honor teams But untill the last half dozen years he still had a hardon for how he was treated by Ballard before he went to the WHA and when he blocked him from signing with the Isles who then went and got Goring instead
