Nice amurph reference, BTW.

Well, there's a start.

If Spector's to be believed, Treliving is interested in Stamkos: Flames seeking a big trade to clean up a big mess - Sportsnet.ca

Of course, I've learned the hard way to never trust a Bond villain...

Are the Bolts really having that much trouble coming to terms with Stamkos? You would have to gut this Flames team to complete that trade.

Meh. I'm not so sure.

Bennett, Hudler, 2 1sts and a youngish depth player ( eg Jooris or Bouma) might be enough.

I am playing in my first competitive score-keeping game in almost a year tonight. Words can't even describe how excited I am about it. Who would have ever thought that getting continually beaten to loose pucks and throwing up on the bench in the 3rd period would be something to look forward to?

The only part of that I don't like is the 2 1sts (rather it just be one 1st). I got a feeling TBay might want to include TJ Brodie in a package for Stamkos, though.

You're probably right about Brodie. I feel the Flames D could withstand that though. That's given, however, that Dougie "Howser" Hamilton starts playing like an NHL D-Man again. And lose the ie, will ya kid. DougIE is a nickname not something you go by, FFS.

That's been waiting a while to come out.

You'd think with Florida's no state income tax incentive it would be done by now.

I don't think Hudler will help get a trade done. He's UFA and that same article mentions he's looking for $7 mil. Assuming Stamkos is looking for $11 mil+/- it doesn't make sense that they'd give Hudler that kind of money, especially with the upcoming contracts Yzerman has to deal with (Kucherov this year, Palat, Johnson, Drouin and Hedman next year).

They would also obviously have to negotiate an extension with Stamkos prior to any deal.

My think was just to balance things cap wise this year and to try to keep this season on the rails for the Lightning.

Just as a side note, I can't believe that $7M is not elite money any more. It's basically turning into 2nd liner cash now. So glad we had those lockouts to keep salaries down, eh Buttman? :burt:

The Poison Dwarf is very proud of the fact Kesler will get a $2 million raise to almost $7 million next year at the age of 32.

Best of luck TO. I got home last night from my game at 1am. Exhausted but always ALWAYS worth it.

I should add that I like Happy Hudler, but not at $7 million. $5 million is palatable. but that's the highest I would go.
