I think modern Leaf futility trumps all past futility, stomps on its grave, takes a leak on it and gives it a 7 year contract for $35 million.

I might have to use this as a SportsHoopla signature down the road.

Big Buff gets 4 games - Interesting that he's back for the final game of the season against the Flames.

/Hopefully, the Flames are home and cooled by then.

(and yes, Dorsett buried the shot that was to come)

I guess if you're a Bolts fan living outside of Florida, you're out of luck.

TAMPA, Fla. -- If you don't live in Florida, you can't purchase single-game playoff tickets for the Tampa Bay Lightning as the hockey team says it wants to "create a home atmosphere" during the postseason.

The Tampa Tribune reported Friday that any tickets purchased with a credit card not attached to a Florida address will be cancelled and issued a refund without notice. Tickets went on sale Friday morning.
The Lightning's first-round opponent still has yet to be determined.

Spokesman Bill Wickett says the team doesn't "feel the need to apologize" for limiting the number of visiting team fans in the Amalie Arena.

In addition, only Lightning team attire will be allowed in the Chase Club section during playoff games.

The Tribune reported that loud contingents of fans of teams in Chicago, Montreal, Winnipeg and Detroit have attended Lightning games this season.

That's a ridiculous policy. All it's going to do is jack up the after-market prices even more absurdly than they normally are.
Ticket sales should be done like they are in soccer - allot a certain number for visiting fans and if any are left by a certain date release the remainder to home fans.

I don't think so. I remember buying playoff tickets for a ridiculously low price ($30, I think) a couple years ago.

Also, the Florida address restriction is useless as well, as a large percentage of Florida residents are transplants anyway. I know if the Pens play Tampa these playoffs I will easily be able to get tickets and I will be wearing my team's garb. :thumb:

the Blues have repeatedly said Backes didn't get concussed on the Seabrook hit. They said he was out due to his foot/toe injury. I find it hard to believe it was the foot and not a brain injury that kept him out but nonetheless, they say he wasn't concussed. More than Backes being out for 2 games though, Kane turned it up and won that series for the Hawks. Hope we catch them with Kane still out. I wouldn't be surprised if he's playing at the end of a long 1st round series.

Flames recall Sam Bennett, Canucks recall Sven Baertschi. Bennett could be in the lineup tomorrow night against the Oilers (I think it's good to have him start against a AHL team).

apparently the Flames could only recall him to the big club, as they had already used their four AHL call-ups.
If they sent him to Adirondack first, he would have been stuck there until they were out of the playoffs.

Baertschi 7G 6A in 12 games at Utica. the shackles are off.
Kenins seems to have lost a bit of his magic touch, so he may come out of the line-up.

I can't help but feel excited for Calgary. Pulling for the Flames if they make it.

Columbus is really shining at the end of the year. The players and fans should be proud, considering what they've endure this season. Pittsburgh is capable of a deep playoff run, but they have to turn things around right now. Getting Malkin back will help. The window of opportunity to win is closing fast for Pittsburgh.

Been saying that since January. It's not happening.

It's not a lot of solace, but it is some. The future looks bright, provided they can stay healthy.

Doubt very much Pittsburgh does anything in the playoffs this year. If you ak me there's going to be many a change in Pittsburgh this year.

What can they do at this point? They have a couple defencemen who look promising, and moving just one of them isn't going to net them the return they need to cure what's hurting the team. There's significant money coming off the books but the UFA crop this summer is rubbish.

Short of cashing in on Crosby or Malkin, I don't see what can be done to make this team a contender again.
