Apparently Byfuglien threw Kane's infamous track suit into the showers.

Tim and Sid have declared it to be "Track Suit Thursday" on Sportsnet 360 - Both Sid and Gregg Zaun are in the studio wearing Old Navy and Under Armour track suits respectively.

I don't know how you can be a pro athlete and not be able to handle a prank...unless he's already felt like an outsider in the room. I dunno, seems like a trade is imminent. Maybe not until the offseason, but still.

who is saying what buff did was just a funny ha-ha prank?

teammates knew where he was and what he was doing ... Buff was probably pissed that he would have to play forward Tuesday night

If he already felt like an outsider, violating team rules - that everyone else adheres to - is not the best way to get back into their good graces.

I think the best case scenario for the Jets is for Kane to undergo this surgery, and let things cool off a bit before dealing him in the off-season. Unless of course they get a half-decent offer now, but as this story unfolds more by the hour I can't see that happening.

Pucks on net ‏@Pucksonnetca Feb 4

Ran into Dustin Byfuglien today. Asked why he was playing forward last night... his response: "ugh, LONG story!!"

During All-Star media availability at Nationwide on Friday, Winnipeg’s Dustin Byfuglien made it clear he wants to keep playing defense for the Jets, even though the club projects to have nine healthy d-men at the conclusion of the ASG break.

“Nothing’s really come out yet, but I can’t see myself going back to forward,” Byfuglien said, when asked if head coach Paul Maurice had confirmed a permanent spot on defense. “I hope not.”

Yep. Pretty much. There's a lot of dirty laundry (hey! a pun!) airing out publicly now, so unless Chevy makes an emotional move, he's better off waiting. Even still, I doubt his stock gets much higher if he's coming off surgery.

In all honesty, I'll be shocked if Evander Kane is still a member of the Jets prior to Friday night's game against the Hawks.

I think he'll just elect to have the season ending surgery :noidea:

Same. Given how badly the Jets need to stay in the playoff race, I can't see this dragging out very long.

Actually, I forgot to include the word "active" in front of member in my above post.
