His game has really fallen off, not quite sure what happened. Don't get me wrong, he's never going to be a star or anything, but he was definitely a useful player and a good energy guy. These days, not so much.

Proteau is literally THE ABSOLUTE WORST

Sid missed the ASG because it's become a showcase for player personalities, which is one thing he doesn't have. He didn't want to come across as less personable than Shea Weber.

In other news, the Jackets have embraced disgrace:

Finally we found something Jared Boll can help the team do. Tank.

I'm glad Sid didn't go. He wasn't playing like himself, I think he needed the time off, whether to heal his body or clear his head. I will always prefer a player put his team first over league "obligations."

The only thing I'll say is that he wouldn't have played very much even if he didn't get suspended and got all those misconducts and majors

But the point is spot on - he spends just about as much time in the penalty box or in the popcorn alley than he does on the ice

Sounds like Semin is done in Carolina.

Chip Alexander @ice_chip
No line changes from Monday practice. Semin, Nestrasil are extra forwards.

Chip Alexander @ice_chip
Asked Peters if Semin situation is frustrating: "It's not frustrating to me. We just play the guys who dig in and work and play with speed."

Chip Alexander @ice_chip
Peters said he has had several conversations with Semin this season. "Obviously something's not right. Talk is cheap, though, right?"

Chip Alexander @ice_chip
Peters said he will play the "best 20 players" and wants players to show teammates, organization they want to play. "Show me," he said.

Chip Alexander @ice_chip
The question now is what will be done about Semin? Waivers, send to AHL, buyout? It seems clear Peters' patience has run out.

Nice guy, well-spoken, a beast in the gym and skills comps, just a guy who is not very good at hockey at this point.

Make room for some younger guys and maybe he finds his game in the minors.

Somehow people forget the mental grind of a season. I didn't love the Proteau article (especially since he's been noted as having a different opinion in OV's case a few years ago), but he makes good points. There's probably no player in the league who's had to "give" more to the league. Plenty of injured guys didn't go, but simply because it's Sid people are annoyed. And it's the same freaking people who complain that he's shoved down fans throats. This didn't affect the league's bottom line at all, there were plenty of NHLers there to schmooze with Honda execs, advertising and tickets were all sold. So. In other words: who the hell cares. Oh, Wysh, because he's a clickbait pandering jackwagon.

@KKurzCSN
Braun confirms to me that he’ll miss 4-to-6 weeks. Wingels hopeful he’ll only miss 3-to-4. Each have breaks in their left hand #SJSharks

Hey look! More injuries!

Send him to the team now GM'ed by the guy who gave him that idiotic contract.

Thankfully, there is zero room for that contract on the roster. That said, if they'd like to buy him out, I'd be all for it. Geno'd finally have another Russian friend.

Oh good now we get to see Getzlaf's bald head in LED and high definition!

And Bruce Boudreau will look like The Big Show on that new scoreboard
