1) Who the hell is Reimer to demand anything? RFA coming off blowing his chance to save his team's season. Absurd.

2) Does he even have any sort of value in the eyes of hockey folks outside T.O? I mean, is he the kind of guy who could be a big piece of a trade for, say, Evander Kane? Or is he too much of a "project" now to have any sort of significant value?

To be fair to him, the shit that gets thrown his way in Toronto would make a lot of people not want to play there

A thousand times this

Dude has a .917 SV% over his last 69 games (behind him in the SV% rankings over the last two years, in order: Fleury, Howard, Luongo, Mike Smith, Hiller and Quick) and you'd think he was fucking Hardy Astrom the way some people in Toronto talk.

The biggest reason I feel a bit bad for Reimer is that he was a big part of bringing the Leafs back to the playoffs...and then the team decides to trade for another goalie to take his job.

Nisky-Minnesota seems to be a big rumor. I'm okay with that. Money being mentioned is $5.5M with long term.

Flames are apparently very interested in Tom Gilbert. Not sure if they are front runner but are certainly in the mix.

Well, the Flames do have to sign guys to reach the cap floor, but I don't know about Gilbert. He's a PP specialist, but he stinks as a defender.

Edit: Although take a look at the following:

He played for the Oilers in 2010 - Oilers draft 1st overall
Played for the Oilers in 2011 - Oilers draft 1st overall
Played for the Oilers in 2012 - Oilers draft 1st overall
Played for the Panthers in 2014 - Panthers draft 1st overall

Minnesota traded away their 1st round pick in 2013, they wanted to make the playoffs and knew if they had a 1st rounder and Gilbert they wouldn't be able to.

Could be a Connor McDavid terrific signing.

And then acting like he was a big part of why they lost game 7 against Boston, when he was the only reason they made the playoffs/got to a seventh game in the first place.

To get Buffalo to the salary cap floor, Sam Reinhart's bonus structure will be unique: $7 million after 4 games played, $1 million per goal.

Actually it might not be a bad signing - he seemed to play with with Ladislav Smid in the past

Gilbert is good. Depending on the price tag it could be a fantastic signing.

It doesn't sound like Chris Butler will be returning, so maybe Tom Gilbert will get signed by the Flames. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Do you believe the players on the roster played with any sort of confidence with Reimer in the net this year?

Do you actually believe that having the league's second-best PK or scoring the 6th-most goals in the league had nothing to do with making the playoffs?

He catches a lot of shit for game 7, I agree, and it wasn't all on him. But he played his part, and I haven't seen a whole lot of confidence coming from the guy since. On the plus, maybe that's a good selling point, the whole needs a change of scenery theory.

They weren't. But they played a hell of a lot better in front of Bernier this season, and that is undeniable.

I agree, Bernier is better, but Reimer isn't terrible and on a better team with a more structured system, he'll do well
