Canadian dollar at a 5 1/2 year low, that could have a significant impact on NHL revenues (and the salary cap) if it stays low.

i saw players escrow deduction set at 14% for first quarter of season because of it

Congrats on the 2016 ASG Nashville! That will be a good get for them, I think a lot of fans will go there, good attractions there

Could an NHL player declare Monte Carlo as his residence and avoid significant taxes? I know a lot of professional tennis players go that route.

/Much easier for tennis players due to them having to travel to where the tournaments are being held.

It's taxed where it's earned, isn't it?

For a player who was an American citizen it wouldn't make a difference anyway, since the US is one of very few countries that will take their pound of flesh even if you live and earn all of your income elsewhere and never once set foot in the country.

John Buccigross @Buccigross
Mark Giordano is the 1st defenseman in Flames franchise history to record assists in each of the team’s first 4 games of a season.

Call me a homer, but I'd put Gio and Brodie up against any defense pairing in the league.

Groin injury. I guess he wasn't looking out for number one.

Ummm...I agree that Doughty's deal is highway robbery, but there are a few other top 4's that I'd take. They have good talent back there, but outside of Doughty there's quite a drop off.

Back in the Moginly days, a few Canucks lived in Point Roberts (an American peninsula accessible only from Canada, about 30 minutes from Vancouver) and claimed American income for the % of games that were played in the US. Not sure if they can still do that.

also, has this been posted yet?

And torts lived in point roberts last year and Nonis before him

Even though they are earning income in canada they are deemed non residents. Irs doesnt fuck around though ... They would have been taxed based on their worldwide income as us residents

I think the key in this residence "arrangement" for past canucks is that washington state doesnt have a state personal income tax

I don't know why Scorchy had to pay the price for the bumbling of mid-level management types. What am I saying, that happens every day.
