I'm working too hard. I just found out about Laine. Need to goof off more.
I hope he does well for you. Him and Caufield on the left dot on PP1 and PP2 should be quite awesome to watch.

So, St Lou traded assets in order for Edmonton to not match offer sheets they could never match to begin with?

I would just refuse to agree to it, just to force Philly to buy him out.

with the Ceci trade and the prospect of putting Kane on LTIR to start the season the Oilers could match both offer sheets. My guess is thats what they told the Blues. They were going to match one or both offer sheets ... unless they got something else. And Blues caved on that because they wanted the players ... if you call caving giving up a 2028 draft pick.

If it wasnt that scumbag Bowman pulling this I would say props for being shrewd.

They downgraded both pisitions,
Are the oldest team in the league
Don't have a draft pick until the 6th round next year
Mcjebus is the youngest forward on the team at 27
Have a $3.25 mm cap hit because Connor brown played in 10 games last year
Are paying Nurse $9.5mm forever

UFA draisitl, Bouchard and mcjebus coming up

It's now or never, and I'm rooting for never.

Correction on the draft picks
They now have a 2nd and 3rd from the RFA compensation

Because Detroit has $17 million in cap space?
They gotta sign Raymond too. $10.5 mil makes them have to choose one or the other likely (or make someone else available via trade).

This is what they're all supposed to be doing - making life hard for one another.

Anyway, could say the same with Thomas Harley. Also get the benefit of hurting a division rival's cap structure.

It's just so obviously not "a tool everybody uses" as he puts it lol
