The NHL has its challenges to be sure, but overall I much prefer it to a league like the NBA.
How can a league be taken seriously when, one quarter of the way into the year, you have teams with records like 3-20 (two teams) or 2-22? The year has barely started and these "professional" teams are obviously tanking.
Crap on the Sharks all you want, but they are still trying and have improved. These NBA weak sisters will not crack 10 wins this year. For the League and the owners to be taking money from anyone for this dreck is just sad.
NBA is a very top heavy league. A few superstar players can dominate for 5+ years and the competitive balance revolves around them while they do.The NHL has its challenges to be sure, but overall I much prefer it to a league like the NBA.

And unfortunately the NHL marketing people must have all come from the NBA because it's always 2 or three guys getting forced down our throats all the time and no other story gets mentioned.NBA is a very top heavy league. Connor, Connor, Connor. And the other Connor. After all the time of Sid vs Ovi.
While young guys like Byfield, Stutzle, Seider, Voronkov are all playing their asses off and barely get a sniff.
Taking advantage of a couple bounces/breaks on 3 of the goals scored, Flames played a good game the other night, could have won that one. Mark Stone made a difference with his defensive play, while getting 2G 2A.Even though the Flames are losing these days, they are in every game (up 5-3 in Denver going into the 3rd period before losing 6-5 and then on a back-to-back forced the Knights to go to OT with a last minute goal). The young guys are getting a chance to play and if Conroy can get picks/prospects for various UFAs, this Flames team can bounce back in relatively short order (hopefully).

There are currently 21 game and 18 game active losing streaks in the NBA. LMAO. ANd owners still expect fans to show up? And actually pay for that shit? They're being avaricious, esurient, rapacious!!
